i created a ring, added the spells to it and gave it to a player. He has it equipped. How can he see the stored spells on it? I can't find a way to do that. I did go back to the item and verified the 5 spells are present.
I think the point is there is no way in the software to assign what the spells that have been cast to the ring.
Correct, I don't think there's a way in the software as it stands to 'store' spells in the item. However, you could make a copy of the item as a Homebrew item and add the spells as an effect to the item.
You'd of course have to go in and change what spells are available every time you use one in game, but it's on potential solution.

Thanks!
I had something similar while doing the Yawning Portal. My DM had me do an arcana check to find out what spells the ring already had on it.
