New to using Avrae on discord for a pbp game and I have been having problems. Main problem has been trying to run an encounter. My friend and I have searched the web for any codes we missed but we have no idea what we're doing. Anyone who has a tutorial would be appreciated. Anyone who can teach me, can you DM me.
join avraes dev server. they have been an amazing help and you can test commands there as much as you want.
As for encounters you start it by using !init start or !init begin I always forget. From there all of your players will use !init join to roll initiative. You'll then use !init madd *monster* (so say !init madd wolf) to add enemies. Once everyone is in you use !init next to actually begin the encounter. From there it will tell you each players turn and they do whatever they need. If they want to attack they'd use !init attack *weapon* -t *monster* or say they wanted to cast a spell on multiple monsters they'd use !init cast "*spell*" -t *monster1* -t *monster2*. Once a player (or monster, you'd use the same commands players would use to attack monsters, to in turn attack players) is done, use !init next again to move to the next player in the initiative order and repeat until either all enemies are dead, or combat ends. To end the encounter you'd just use !init end
It sounds like a lot but I promise it gets really easy really fast to catch up on. I made a separate discord channel with common commands so that my players can just quickly copy and paste what they need.
I know init begin and the rotatation but somehow we couldnt add 3 wererats and have them attack on their turns. My Pc (I'm not playing but i uploaded a Pc) keeps attack and the bot isnt counting dmg.
I did join Avrae and I'm still confused but they did manage to help me add 3 wererats in for the encounter. Right now is getting the rats to attack My friends PC and me since I'm an NPC (Playing Dragon of Ice Spire Peak, Pc is saving sidekick from wererats.)
