I realize you're all excited, but I think you may be setting yourself up for disappointment. If this happens, great, but I really can't see it. D&D Beyond has been putting pieces in place for their own VTT since before the pandemic, I just don't see them abandoning all that work or making a deal with a competitor.
It could happen. I've been wrong before, it will happen again, but I'm just saying to cool your expectations to avoid massive disappointment.

I'm just happy is there is a third party element or mod that can do the job

That's one outlook, and thank you. But. Im going to be excited. Even if it never happens. I'm an optimist. The pessimistic outlook just isn't fun to embrace. Even if we took a realist approach, i would say its going to be years before DndBeyond will be ready for something like that and they can contract in the mean time.
I could see Fandom purchasing TaleSpire just like they did DDB. Not beyond the realm of the possible, would save them a huge amount of time building their own VTT
A collaboration would be much appreciated. I think working together would result in the best possible product for the customer and the D&D community as a whole.

Just two days!!
Just wanted to add that I would love to see the ability to import character sheets into Talespire.
