I am trying to create a Kalashtar Warlock. My thinking was is that it would be cool if she worshipped her own Quori (I am sure I’m not the first to think this), but the more I read the more I realized I didn’t understand and the more I was not sure how that would actually make sense. See questions below.
What connection does the Quori still have with the plane of dreams? Are they entirely in the material plane or are they still partly back in the plane of dreams?
If the Quori is just a disembodied spirit living within my character (and shared among all other Quori of my lineage of the same gender) how would they be powerful enough to be an entity that could grant me additional powers. If the Quori could really do that, then wouldn’t they just do that by default for all Kalashtar?
What happens if all the related Kalashtar hosting a single Quori spirit die? Can the Quori inhabit another willing vessel? If so, would this need to be another special ceremony (like the original melding with the monks)? If not, does that mean the Quori spirit just dies or can it return to the plane of dreams?
How do the Quori multiply back in their own realm? They seem really interested in breeding perfect vessels (both the original 67 rebel Quori and the Inspired), but do the Quori reproduce on their own either through their vessels or back on the plane of dreams?
I ask because I wonder if it would make sense to perhaps worship a powerful Quori, back in the dream plane, related to the Quori I am hosting? But do Quori have relatives?
I am also wondering for the motivation of the Quori inhabiting me. Can the Quori spirits themselves reproduce and perhaps seek a mate? Or is it only the fixed 67 original Quori or any other Quori that manage to reach the material realm from the plane of dreams?
If a rouge Quori made its way to the material plane and inhabited a willing vessel could that still be considered a Kalashtar or are the Kalashtar only decedents of the original rebel Quori? Would a new host have all the same abilities as an original Kalashtar or is there something unique about the original Kalashtar that a newcomer would not posses?
Okay so, this post is old but I hope you got your answers already if not here are my answers from what I read and understand about them so far:
1- The quori bound by kalashtars aren't connected to the plane of dreams any more so instead of the kalashtar dreaming, he or she gets to see memories of the quori when he or she was there. Currently the quori are spirits completely within the material realm and not partially there
2- The quori themselves aren't powerful enough for that but they might connect them to the more powerful qouris such the one in the path of light and the one that rules nightmares (forgot their names)
3- I don't think there is anything that prevents them from bonding with another vessel... as for if there is a ritual for it; maybe ?
4- Unfortunately I don't have the answer for that one but I think I did read somewhere that they do multiply somehow but better find confirmation as for what their goals might be, either to eradicate evil or attempt destruction if they follow the creatures of nightmare.
5- yes! It will be a Kalashtar/inspired (if evil) and the abilities they get are their usual psionics like telepathy and resilience to mental harm but I am not sure if it works for every race as I only saw them bind to humans iirc.
