Please look into the Core Rules program for 2nd edition DnD. I still use this program anytime we play 2nd Ed. This program was the best in terms of random encounters, treasure generation, character creation. And you could even add your own stuff (homebrew). This program had almost everything included into it at release. I will be more than happy to pay almost what ever price DnD Beyond has but I NEED to have these type of generators. I already own every book (multiple copies of the essentials) so having an online resource is great but not needed (I love the researching aspect of DnD), but random gen tools are what I want. If DnD Beyond offers these types of services I would be more than happy to buy every book in digital format again. With hopes that this can be used off line.
I love 2e too. Back when the original published D&D material had some really good stuff! And lots of it! Essentially, I run 2e material/settings but with 5e rules.
Sorry, but I wouldn't count on this in the slightest bit. I think it's a miracle WoTC has put up the PDFs on DMs Guild for the older editions. I'd be buying all those you want before they change their mind and pull them off (which has happened before).

Be careful what you Wish for... your DM may just give it to you!
I have my core rules and expansion as well as the realms atlas on CD and the Dragon archieve, would love updates on those but alas D&DB has nothing to do with any of those.
I think he's asking for DDB to add some tools along the lines of the random treasure and encounter generators to the site, for 5e content, not to add the 2E content.
