So i'm wanting to create a one shot set in a Eureka the tv show like town and the huge Library on its outskirts. I want a cursed item that can affect the library and the surrounding area. If i cant think of anything else i would use the book of vile darkness but i want to try some original ideas. Any suggestion my fellow D&D heroes?
I could totally see a eureka scientist turning into an Allip. First sentence of it's description is on theme for that town. "When a mind uncovers a secret that a powerful being has protected with a mighty curse, the result is often the emergence of an allip"
Not sure what to do for regional impact.
If you need a cursed item it could be a journal that the Allip is bound to.
I think a relatively easy way is to pick a monster with lair actions or regional effects and build off that. The phylactery of a feebleminded lich, a petrified vampire, the crystalized heart of a dragon, etc. That way you'll a baseline as to how it may curse an area.
