Ok so here is my issue. I am DMing a group that is about to go headfirst into a storyline involving an outbreak and they are healer weak...non existent basically. So I was going to run a DMPC to assist them. One of the ideas I had though was some sort of warforged that had the ability of healing, but I don't know if a warforged can be a cleric or Paladin. Especially since this one is going to be glitched in the personality. Any in game ways around this or can I just "DM yada yada " a medic warforged
Sure, if you want terminators in your world, why not a terminator medic? It's your world.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
I literally did the same thing for the group I DM. They had virtually no healing, so I created a Warforged Cleric who was assigned to the Fighter as a medic during the Last War.
He hasn't really grasped the whole "Warforged are people now" concept and just follows his former commander around because that's what he was assigned to do.
Btw the DMG gas variant "heroic" or "healer-less" variant rules.
One being to swig healing potions with bonus actions (Which still allows PCs to utilise their turn and not a this or this situation.
Or I think its called healing surge where you can use an action to use & heal hit dice+con. Pretty much a short rest as an action.
There are some other modifications too. Worth a look.
Depending on their level, and exactly how much healing/team work they need there are a handful of healing NPCs they can use. Erky Timbers from sunless citadel (yawning portal chapter 1) or the healer sidekick from the essentials...
Would be a lot simpler than creating a legit PC in the builder & remembering ALL stats/features/spells/skills etc etc.. Its a single stat block you can even give to one of your players to control instead of you. Heck of a lot less management on your part and you can still decide what the npc still does and says (outside of combat).
If its a particularly quirky NPC either tell the PC controlling that they'll control for combat but youll control ots behabior outside or explain their flaws/bonds/behavior n let the most interested/best RP player take over and see how its done from their perspective

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.

Warforged can be any class. You can use the healer sidekick.

I have a DMPC Cleric in my party. I made him a main part of the story line. He does not do any physical attacks just a corpsman.

I made a Warforged cleric who was a battlefield medic. They were literally built to triage in a warzone. Named them Radar, I love that character.
Go for that Warforged Cleric! <3
