So I’ve been looking into minor conjuration from the school of conjuration, I’ve read a few threads in search of this information with no success. I’ve seen questions on conjuring healing potions and other items. My question is can I conjure a non magical item from an enemy in the middle of battle. Assuming it meets the weight and size regulations?
I don't understand your question. You literally create from thin air. You don't teleport items being held by another person.
If you want to use it to duplicate something that an NPC or monster is holding your DM may ask to make a perception check if youre not allowed to actually hold it to know its shape
What the hell?!?! For some reason I was under the impression that you conjured that exact item? I swear a read it somewhere. I just read The PHB and it’s doesn’t specify where it comes from. Thanks for the quick answer. this has been something I’ve been wondering for a while.
“its form must be that of a nonmagical object that you have seen.“
I could see how this sentence could be misconstrued to mean that you are summoning that specific object that you’ve seen, but it says you are only summoning the FORM of that object. Not the object itself.
Yeah, I just read it again and saw that, dang I was really hoping to use that in combat :p. Oh well I’m sure I can find other uses for it in combat. Thanks for the help

Not everything has to be about combat. As a matter of fact, the best creativity in DnD is OUT of combat. My brother who has always been a 'blasty' magic user in almost every game has almost ALL of his cantrips and spells nukes and we're trying to get him out of that mentality, especially since he primarily only uses 1 or 2 of them, don't waste the limited spots with redundant [damage] spells. It's taking some getting used to but you really only need 1 maybe 2 'combat' cantrips. One reason why DnD is so loved is because WHAT you can do with utility spells is literally unimaginable.
You're in jail and you see the keys on a sleeping guard or on a nail on the wall? No thieve's tool or its a high DC? Use mage hand to reach it. Out of mage hand range? Use your minor conjuration to recreate it!

Noxx is correct.
You aren’t taking something from somewhere else, you are creating something from nothing.
