Even though the DDB maps tool is still in alpha I find it works very well for my groups use case and is getting features added very regularly. Being in alpha it does have quirks and issues that may not work for every group but I still recommend giving it a try if you personally have a master tier subscription, as content sharing does not work with the maps tool and has not to date. It does support importing map images so it is really just a few mouse clicks to get a map imported, but you may not have the art on the tokens but as it is still in alpha this is understandable even if it is inconvenient. out side of the stated caveats it is a great tool if you can deal with the current functionality if not I suggest burning through trials and or doing short term subscriptions to find which of the many other choices works best for your groups/games.
TLDR: I used DDB maps alpha and love it warts and all, but I have a master tier subscription for other reasons and the missing features are a non-issue for me when I DM.
I am not planning to renew my annual subscription (it is currently canceled in protest of the many issues with the new store) so when it runs out I will be looking for a different tool unless wizbro can convince me to renew before I jump ship and swim off into the sunset.
I have heard of AboveTT, seems to be pretty simple too use.
