I guess I will just be using the paper versions then... the 'free' stuff is mostly useless.
The 'Free' stuff is the Basic Rules, as provided and dictated by Wizards of the Coast (who is not D&D Beyond). D&D Beyond is a separate and/or competing retailer to the local bookstore/Amazon where you might have purchased physical copies. Unfortunately, they receive none of the funds from those purchases to provide Wizards of the Coast justification of licenses expended.
They allow a lot of custom/homebrew options so you'll be able to manual input lots of the options not available. You'd have to ask others about homebrew features since its beyond my scope to be honest.
I have spent hundreds of Dollars on the real books, is there any way to have access to them here without dropping a mint again?

If you like the toolset, buy something you don't have. Treat it like a Freemium game that you enjoy, support the devs.
