Oh hai friends. First post here so bear with me. I'm REAL new to DnD, and REAL new in to MTG lore (I just finished Thran yesterday, and started the Brother's War), but i've read many of the planeswalker origin stories and such. Ive searched and seen various builds for PC Planeswalkers but a lot of them are old 3.5 builds, or include UA, or what have you.
I'd like to see peoples builds for some of the MTG Planeswalkers. Theros gives a lot of interesting options for backstory. And a Gideon Jura build looks feasible with the new paladin subclass as a follower of Heliod. Jace Beleren seems to fall right into the Inscrutable supernatural gift seeing as how he was taught by a sphinx. An Iconoclast Ajani seems to fit quite well given his disdain for the gods after the whole Elspeth thing, that and now Leonin is a thing instead of a weird BUFF tabaxi. All said, does anyone have any new ideas for planeswalker builds now?
I have a Garruk Goliath Hunter/Fighter/Barbarian that seems like a neat build, a Jace (my favorite /woot) Human Wizard (Divination) - he seems more focused of planning and foresight than illusions overall IMO, plus i dont think the illusion wizard capstone is as applicable as divination. I have tinkered with a Angrath Minotaur Wizard (for firey hands and chain he wields)/Fighter, and a Gideon Human Oath of Glory Paladin. The last of which doesnt seem to line up just right as its missing the "hold person"-like chains he uses from his origin story, but the rest is very leader, tank, protect the troops, which i think is perfect.
