Listening to Not another dnd podcast, I love Bevely’s character. I’m sure the idea of playing a paladin as a boy-scout isn’t new, but it’s damn effective.
it made me think, what other real world archetype fits different classes?
for exemple, I could totally see a pot-head hippie be a Druid.
Warlocks = anyone that is on the board of a Home Owners Association. They have made a pact with what they think of as God, but only grants them very little real power - which they use at every opportunity.
Bard = "Internet Influencer"
Rogue = Politician. Not all of them are thieves, but it is understandable how that myth came about.
Sorcerer = Startup CEO They magically make something without needing any education whatsoever, yet almost all the time they had an upper-middle class lifestyle, so they clearly owe something to their ancestors.
Cleric = Barista. They literally wake people from the dead.

Wizard = IT technician. Smart, nobody else really understands what they do, few social skills.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
