Just out of curiosity, is Sapphire Dragon just a stat block added to the monsters list, or is it also a booklet with more history/lore? The description doesn't quite make 100% sense to me. Any help is appreciated.

Please, for the love of the gods, tell me how am I to balance DnD with the family and my son's travel hockey? HALP!
Since it's a 1 off, the sapphire doesn't have as much lore type stuff as you get for the other dragons. But it's not a new species, there's a lot of older resources on them. I'd recommend the FR wiki or if you can find an online version of the old Council of Wyrms setting.

It's like an article you would find in the Monster Manual.
Most other monsters cost the same when you buy them a la carte.
