I am still working on the character that I have been trying to make for a few weeks now. My original intent was to make them a Rogue Mastermind, but I have just thought, what if I made them a Druid instead? I felt that I could still give the character the, City Watch / Investigator background, but rather than have them be a policeman in their former life. They would be an investigator, charged with investigating crimes committed by or against wild creatures, the Fey and so on.
Furthermore, since the Druid's primary abilities are INT and WIS, and a Druid can Wildshape into animals like bears and so forth, the character would be less MAD than if I made them a Rogue. Making them highly effective investigators, and still useful in a fight.
I could then make them a Half Wood Elf Variant, with Mask of the Wild, making them pretty stealthy, at least on their home turf.
Their reason for adventuring could be; to find the real perpetrator of a series of violent crimes, that their superiors are trying to pin on the wrong man.
So, what do you think? Could this work instead of making the character a Rogue?
Inquisitive rogue works better then mastermind maybe? if your wanting solo then anything will work as long as your set up right, some better then others. Human druid with
Observant feat would work really well, but also a inquisitive human rogue with Observant feat would would great as well...good rolls or point buy could get 20+ passive perception and investigation pretty easy.
https://ddb.ac/characters/32663152/S0Kv36 just 1 level rogue. 22 passive perception and investigation..so might be worth a level deep, if not, going with druid with same set up, and you would have 20 on both still

Hi, everyone

A caffeinated nerd who has played TTRPGs or a number of years and is very much a fantasy adventure geek.
Sure, Druids are very versatile, as long as you have high Wis other stats don’t matter much. Making them an investigator with high int would work.
