I would love a sourcebook for a my hero campaign, there wouldn't be a specific class, but you would get spells and stuff based on your quirk, like fireball for dabi or wall of ice for shoto

These all sound pretty cool, advice for weaver time can tricky to balance so be very carefull if you build a subclass for it.Limiting the number of subclasses you class can have seems like a bad idea for planar mage (even if that number is 14)
Shaman may get the wrong point across for a sorcerer/barbarian (get more druid/warlock vibes from that name).
hmmmm that does make sence but sence there are a lot of wizard fighter and other fighter things i wanted a sorcer thing, what should i call that then???

A few years back I made a homebrew for a sword master class (from fire emblem) after being egged on by a friend at a dnd game (she made one herself). I'm still relatively new to the game so I had to scrounge for ideas- even taking some from other games. I tried to keep it to idea from from fire emblem ( minimal damage but crit often), but It kinda contradicted the feeling of getting a nat 20.
I came up with ideas for three subclasses or sword styles: defensive, skirmisher and aggressor. Defensive style has maneuvers like the Battlemaster but are triggered on a missed attack by the enemy. The style can also use an action to give bonus AC to allies near him until next turn. Skirmisher style gain additional attacks dependent on the last successful hit and movement (if anyone is familiar with Rondo of Swords, it's where I got the idea from). I never finished writing up aggressor style, but it would have a focus on two-weapon fighting and would give temporary HP on a critical hit or killing blow.
Though incomplete, I showed it to my group and the reactions ranged from meh to broken. My friend did use one of my ideas to add to her sword master homebrew, so that was nice. My concept probably needs more work, but what about a weapon master class? 5e already has abilities added to some classes and feats, but I think there can be elaborated more.
Maybe. I think in the PHB the Battlemaster is described as a tactical fighter. I was thinking of the weapon master as more instinctual and improvisational since his/her weapon is an extension of themselves. I'm not sure how that would work out mechanically though. Maybe certain abilities upon equipped specific weapons, or just a laser focus on one, with its abilities growing with proficiency or level. I just like the concept of someone honing their skills or form to absurd levels.
Insanely late to the thread, but I really like the idea of an anti-mage/equalizer type class, whose thing is similar to monks' in that they have "spells" but they're not arcane in nature. Maybe something that specializes in finding magic, dispelling magic, and removing advantages from opponents (i.e. removing a resistance or slowing them down or something). Examples might be they have dispel/detect magic, see invisibility, slow, etc. Very under-developed, but it might be cool to have something somewhere between (but still removed from) a bard and a monk on paper. Don't know if melee would suit them really, bc they'd probably be over-powered. Idk!
i have a fighter path like that called the mage hunter, that has feature that can cancel out and reverse magic, or at least i'm adding it to the homebrew

I actually make a fleshed out shaman, I finished it a couple of days ago. However its more of a World of Warcraft like shaman. Where they use fire, cold, acid, and lightning and they're kinda similar to warlocks in a way. I think wizards of the coast should implement it. it would be awesome.
For sure that would also call for a lot of new spells native to this class and specific to its sub classes ^^
Sub classes could be
Bond of Nature (Good for Support and Heal, alternative to Druid and/or Ranger)
Cauldron of many drinks (Alchemy and Potions of all sort, both good for combat and RP)
Polymorph Madness (Polymorph Counter Spell and a fun alternative to Tavern Brawler with their improvised weaponry. My idea here is that polymorphs last about 1 round, so you have to get creative ;D)
Twisted Wizardry (Basically Dark Magic and a nice counter class to Wizard and Sorcerer)
Bewitching Charm (Similar to "College of Eloquence" very RP based, but gives other ways to bewitch people, and also it would be the first alternative to the Bard Class ever in this regards)
etc. :)
I'm actually very excited about the possibilities of a Witch Class ^^

Any thoughts :D?
sounds very similar to the warlock, which is what dnd already has as a "witch"
It's very different in my head tho ^^ especially since they have no Patron and I would have them with normal amount of spell slots. Basically could do them as a Sorcerer Sub class since they are also born with their unique magic talent (started working on that after I made the previous post ^^). Tho it includes a lot of spell homebrewing x)
I imagine the witch as the master of crafting single-using items (talismans, potions, scrolls, amulets, tatoos). With a "Book of Shadows", and maybe a mixture of game mechanic of incarnum soulmelds and vestige binding, but not too complicated.
I don't miss the incarnum soulmelder classes but I do the ki martial adepts. Shinobi and gladiators may be martial adepts.
My suggestion is the "nahualt", something like the "shipter" class by Pathfinder, about a shapeshipter class.
The vestige binder was too potentialy interesting as hook or source of inspiration for new adventures.
I love the concept of psionic ardent to create a hate-love relation with the rest of divine spellcasters.
I think we’re sorely lacking more half-casters. Considering that the charisma star has three full casters (bard, warlock, sorcerer) to one half caster (Paladin), a new charisma half-caster is in order. and since paladins are perfectly fine as the frontliners of the charisma gang, we could use a character with more of an emphasis on ranger attacks mixed with some utility.
ideas on which archetype this class could revolve around? I see a teacher/counselor archetype doing well. Like Chiron or Zhuge Liang, both capable of doing well in combat on their own but having their focus be on teaching and buffing up their allies. (Though a bard with a bow can probably do this just as good).
alternatively, a class with a focus around summoning would be pretty cool. Summoning mechanics have gotten more robust and refined as fifth edition has progressed and is like to see them use more of those better changes like with the newer pet subclasses.

The sorcerer was initially planned to be a charisma half caster. It was one during the playtest.
I'd love to see a swordmage as an int based half caster.

That’s a neat tidbit. I guess some of that carried over in their smaller spell list and beefier hit die. Though it’s definitely weird that sorcerer was considered to be a half caster when they’re seen and portrayed interchangeably with wizards in other media. If anything I’d think warlock would be the most likely to have once been a half caster.

might sound like this ,
Weapon Master
when you choose this class choose 2 weapons that you are proficient with, you double your PB when you attack with these weapons
