so i really like DDB and have some friends i would like to play with online. the issue is none of us are really fans of roll 20 or fantasy grounds whats a good way to do a "virtual table top" that works ?
It depends on what you are looking for in a platform. If you are using theater of the mind than really any chat client will work. If it has a built in dice roller and the option for voice chat then bonus. As TotM is my preference I do not really know much about the other options. Sorry. Generally I run my games via Roll20 with the map frame shrunk down or over Discord or Skype. I suppose you could set up a stream via your preferred streaming service and then use studio software to capture specific windows on your desktop and have them sent to your stream.

Unfortunately there are not many options at the moment. In time, D&D Beyond may fill that role as well. Luckily, we play at the table and I use D&D Beyond and/or FG during those sessions.
