Our DM recently put us in a fight with a critter that had mental powers. Our Ranger made her Nature/Survival check and figured out that if we prepared its brain and ate it, we could gain mental stats or abilities. It was a random die roll and she wound up with a free Cantrip.
As a Ranger (4th level) she doesn't have access to Cantrips in D&DB. Is there any way to edit that in so we don't have to forget it or record it elsewhere?
From what I've come to understand, the recommended way to do this is to make a homebrew feat that allows the casting of the cantrip, then add the feat to the PC.

Thanks in advance.

Makes sense, thanks
