I am going to be DMing Icewind Dale soon for my group and thought it will be really cool to use a 32in tv as a battle map. I am having a friend of mine build a case for it so that me and my players can use our minis on it. What are some of the best programs to use? Are there any programs to upload maps that I have bought from the DMs guild? Any help or advice would be very much apperciated.
I've been using Fantasy Grounds for just this for a couple of years now. It not only let's me put the map on the TV, but helps me run the npc's, monsters, etc. We still use mini's on the TV.
Laptop or pc .- stream the map over wireless if your tv has it.
All I did was have the map on the laptop and stream it to the front room tv. Really simple and no special programs needed. Could even just use ms paint to move people around. Though I did write my own map program in visual basic. Same can be done in paint or Photoshop just streamed over.

Thank you guys!

Somebody else already did the work looking up virtual tabletops, so I’m just going to link: https://www.dnd-compendium.com/dm-resources/virtual-tabletops
Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
