While testing the application to prepare for a campaign I wish to DM during Xmas break, I made a campaign and within it I made a character that wilk be available for the joining player ro choose (unassigned I believe it is called). Well I want to know how to salvage that char and enroll it to a another campaign without loosing anything once my testing are completed.
Also, I am wondering how does it work if the party find treasure during the quests ( because there will be) how do they add a magical item created ( stats and all) into their inventory, and keep it there for the future as well? My goal is to:
preroll all chars for the campaign, rehashing p&p char sheets my players ( read children) had when I first introduce them to AD&D.
make then unassigned for the moment
each player will receive a personal invitation ( link to the campaign) addressed to their char name, setting up the start of the adventure
once they select their characters they may keep it for future campaigns and keep what they found during each adventures
I plan to link each chars to Roll20 for the maps and encounters, for my children are not all under my roof. I say children but they are all In their twenties. I will add their girl/boy friend for a Mega party of 7 members adventure. Any advice is welcome at this point.
1) Take ownership of the character if you don't already own it.
2) Remove the character from the old campaign.
3) Use the join link for your new campaign, and select the character from (1) - that character is now in the new campaign.
4) Create all the other PCs in the new campaign, then "unassign" them within the campaign.
5) Other players join, and can take ownership of one of the unassigned PCs. Note that the same game link is used for all players, unless you are going to regenerate a new link after each individual person joins the campaign.
Treasure:
The party simply go to their equipment section and from the "Manage Equipment" button they can search for the name of a new item to add to their inventory.
In a similar way, they can manage their currently prepared spells.
