So I am a DM hoping to use dnd beyond for my players characters, but I have one question, when the characters level up does it automatically update health/features or do you have to manually go back and edit the character.
When levelling up, all non-optional features are updated automatically, but anything that requires a choice, such as subclass selection, will require going into the character builder and making that selection.
HP on level up must be manually adjusted; the character builder automatically applies your constitution modifier, but you must add your hit dice gain yourself

If you select "hit point type" to "fixed" then you don't even need to edit the HP, they will just automatically update when you add a level to the character.
