Need alittle advice or help if possible. I am going to be DMing for the first time and using Waterdeep : Dragon Heist, i have been a player for about 3/4 years now and always wanted to DM and now taking that dip!
I previous picked up fantasy grounds on steam for a great discount but i find this rather overwhelming and somewhat to busy (although it really does have some great bits to it!) i also really enjoy theater of the mind more then anything else and know some need maps for encounters.... but then stumbled onto this beaut and really love how DDB works and feels etc for access to all the material.
My question is about sharing certain parts like player maps, notes or pictures etc from the source material with the players. Is there an easy way to do this via the app or the site? I use discord with them so wanted to hand out in there if possible?
If not my plan will prob be to use FG to share the needed parts as and when. I just wanted to try and keep it all under one roof.
Im nearly finished prepping the encounters for the first chapter with some extra - oh hell didnt think they were going to do that moments.
Sharing images via discord is easy - just copying and pasting. Personally I'd suggest a filesharing service though, if you don't want to use a virtual tabletop. There's plenty of free ones that are all good enough for this purpose, and I think it's likely one or more of your players are already using one.

Thanks 😊👍🏻 when you share images via discord, are you screen shotting and sharing or is there a way to share an image straight from the source book?....... i think i am just being a dumb a£$ in all honesty 🤣
Well, it has to be an image. As in, a file in an image format. There may be other options depending on the source but yes, screenshotting and cropping the image works.
