Hello I decided to make some of the character and I looked a some of the things you could buy but I gotten confused. So if a race is classed as "Monster" like wererat, satyr, orc, and others does it mean that I can not use them as a PC? I just want to know incase I eventually buy any of the races or backgrounds. Also sorry if this is in the wrong place.
There is a difference between "Races" and "Monsters". If the source book has a Race then it is for use as a PC, if its a monster listing then it isn't.
An example is Volo's Guide to Monsters having 136 Monsters but only 12 Races.
You have Player Races, which can be found on this page on D&D Beyond: D&D Beyond Player Races
There are Monstrous Races, which are officially playable races that are considered enemies that can be run against the players (Goblins, Orcs, Bugbears, Yuan-Ti, etc).
By means of Homebrew, any "Race" of creatures can be fitted to be a playable, it just takes some work, and sometimes the conversion is difficult.

I recently got this bundle for character creation and have really liked it, might be worth checking it out: https://www.dndbeyond.com/marketplace/bundles/player-bundle
