Group type: Mostly online using FoundryVTT and Discord but would like to have 4 or 5 games face-to-face.
Experience: New, been DMing for about a year
Location/Timezone: Dallas, TX (General DFW area), Central Time
Schedule: Saturdays, we start between 6:30pm-7:30pm. We might occasionally flex to Friday or Sunday, but 90% of the time it'll be on Saturday. Sessions normally last around 4 hours, the campaign will probably last another six months(ish). Your character level will likely end at 14 or 15.
Roles sought: Looking to add two more players to my ongoing D&D campaign. Beginners are welcome! The party is level 6 but if you're new to D&D I can start you out at level 3 to ease you along. The group currently has 4 players total, but only 2 regulars. One member of my group is about to have a baby so he won't be there as often and another member has inconsistent work/life schedule conflicts.
Game style: Set in a heavily modified version of the Forgotten Realms, particularly the Sword Coast. I've taken some inspiration from the "Kings of the Wyld" book series, western films, and a couple of D&D live streams like High Rollers and The Adventure Zone: Balance. We're a pretty casual group, very easy-going. I LOVE role play, I try to do a lot of character voices and will use a voice-changer on discord. Lots of combat, but I'm working on adding more unique puzzles. There's an emphasis on story, heavy on the "found family" trope. If you decide to join, your character will have their own arc that I'll tie into the main campaign. My biggest DM inspiration is Mark Hulmes from High Rollers D&D, so if you're a fan of his you'll probably like my style. I do my best to follow most of the rules, but I might homebrew monsters and their effects. I generally don't worry about things like spell components unless it's something big like revivify, greater restoration, etc. And of course, rule of cool will be used at my discretion lol.
A promise from me: So I've read some pretty awful stories from the rpghorrorstories subreddit so I figured I'd include this. We curse and can sometimes have a crass sense of humor, but I promise you as your DM and potentially new friend, I will NEVER force you and your character to be put in an inappropriate or compromising situation for story, art, or whatever. If at any time I, or any of the players, make you feel uncomfortable, please say something or send me a direct message during the session and I will make sure that it stops IMMEDIATELY. We're here to have fun and I will do whatever I can to make you feel safe and at home. We can talk about boundaries and everything else during your character creation.
If this sounds like your kind of jam, please don't hesitate to drop a line; anyone is welcome! I do work overnights, so I apologize for any delayed response. Thanks and have a great day!
Experienced player on west coast. Been DMing and need a break and just play some D&D. I can fulfill any role, comfortable with casters, ranged dps, melee dps and tank rolls. But if allowed, I would like to play a Paladin Oath Breaker if able. Have Discord Dark_Omen1985#4985
Hey! I'm newer to DnD but have listened to podcasts for over a year and want to get into it! I am wanting to do a healing or tank role. If you still have a spot lmk on discord, diggy dog 10#3864
Hi! I would love to join if there are still any spots available. I'm 23f based in AZ(mst), my discord handle is desert_vvitch#1530. I'm still very much a beginner and have played a partial campaign, but never got to finish it. Hope to hear from you!
If it's still possible to join this group I would love to! My discord is Honorata#5294. I am new to D&D but I'm a fast learner and I think I'd enjoy the game styles you've described.
