Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online (Voice preferred. No video for now.) Experience: New-ish (I understand the rules and the etiquette of the game. However, I haven't been in a successful campaign yet and I still depend a fair amount on notes and cheat-sheets.) Location/Timezone: Eastern U.S. (EDT -4 GMT) Availability: Shorter sessions possible with a few days' notice in the evening during the week. anytime in the afternoon on weekends. Preferred role: Player Game style: I like a story that can be interacted with, but who doesn't here? Forming meaningful bonds between player characters is a big draw for me as well. 18+ is my preferred game just to make room for the occasional heavy theme and some blue humor; I'm not really interested in any explicit eroticism.
About me personally: I'm a guy in my mid 30's who has played a little here and there over the years but as it goes, real life tended to disrupt any campaign I managed to get in on. It's an itch that never got fully scratched for me. As for what I'm like, I'm a joker at heart but I also know when to shut up or be serious too. I run a machine shop for a living so while I have some flexibility in my schedule, it takes some planning on my part and very rarely can I carve time out during normal business hours. Even though I have a bit of authority over others IRL, I won't bring the "I'm the boss" mentality to the table; that would make the game too much like work then.
As for what you could expect for my characters, I like to play gnomes since they aren't much different than me; generally happy and will try to cut tension with humor if the situation allows. They also are crafty first before going for brute force or immense, arcane power. I like to ask questions like "What check would you have me roll to see if I can [some heavily situational thing]?" If I have five minutes to prepare before a fight, I'm setting a trap of some sort even if it's just a trip wire.
Anyway, I deeply appreciate your time if you've made it to this point. If there's anything else you'd like to know feel free to ask.
Thanks.
