I HAVE SEVERAL CANDIDATES NOW SO THIS CAN BE CLOSED
Looking to welcome 1 player, 18+. Currently our group is composed entirely of male gamers. However, we value tolerance and inclusion, and are welcoming of more diversity in our group.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online - DIscord Voice (video optional), Roll20 VTT, D&D Beyond character sheets Experience: Player can be of any experience with 5e -- we lean towards the newbie side ourselves. Location/Timezone: CST (UTC−06:00) Schedule: Friday nights, Weekly, 7PM starts, 3-4 hours game time Roles sought: One Player Game style: Mixture of combat, social interaction, RP, exploration.
Me (DM): I have been playing 5e for less than a year. I don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of the rules but when uncertain, the rule of cool prevails. I am a little clumsy with the online tools but hopefully that gets a little smoother. So far the group has been tolerant of my stumbles and seem to be enjoying the game.
The Players: There are 5 players, some with gaming experience in other editions but all pretty new to 5e. Their characters are 2nd level and include Dwarf Paladin, Dwarf Monk, Dragonborn Barbarian, Half Elven Sorceror, and Goliath Cleric. As a party, they play fairly cooperatively, which I think everyone at the table appreciates. We have met for 4 sessions, and they have played smart. They used social interaction to avoid unnecessary combat, when in combat have found tactical advanatge, and have solved puzzles in unforeseen ways. (I'll need to challenge them more).
The Game: I am using the indy module Ruins of the Grendleroot, which essentially is an underdark-like campaign setting with a bunch of one-shots that are not necessarily connected. The main theme of the setting is exploration. The characters started in the northern part of Faerun, journeyed to a mountain cavern complex to investigate the source of a mysterious metal. They have been led to an underdark boom-town community that seems obsessed with understanding mysteries left behind by the previous occupants. Recently, the party brought a halt to the corrupting influence of a mysterious entity, the Grendleroot. Also, the characters are scheming to find a way to stake a claim in any mining operations that develop as a consequence of their work. I'm not sure what's next. They could go back to the surface or could stay in this underdark setting.
Looking for 1 more: We recently lost a rogue to a scheduling conflict. The party thinks they could benefit from a character with some stealth and other skill proficiencies typical of a rogue. They also thought some more utilitly spells could be an asset, Of course, where you land in that space is up to you, but I'd like to keep it to official 5e classes. Race is pretty up in the air, but again, I'd like to keep it to official 5e races. I personally do not have knowledge of the lore of Eberron, Ravnica, etc., but if you wanted to play a race from those settings, it could probably work.
Reach out to me on Discord if interested: PDubb#2739. Tell me a little bit about a character you think you'd like to play.
Heya! I wouldn't mind joining, it's been a while since I got to flex my rogue skills ahaha that role always gets snatched up. Feel free to hit me up on discord! ClockworkCryptid#1191
