I am hoping I can find a group where I can be a player. (role player, not the other slang type :) )
I started playing D&D in 1e in 85, as both a player and DM. Did that until 3.5e when I suddenly became a forever DM. Never played 4e, just DM. I am 8 months into DMing my first level 1-20 5e campaign. and as it comes to a close will be starting my second...
But I would really like to play as a PC for a campaign or 2.
I made a character, a tiefling warlock, but planned to make it anti-trope. She's not an edge lord, her goal is to ultimately leave her patron, she didn't want to be a warlock or a tiefling, and she really wants to have friends for a change and help them. Here is the obligatory start block.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online video is fine Experience: veteran (probably best described as ancient) Location/Timezone: American Expat living in Central Europe, GMT+1 Availability: Every night except Sunday night, when I run my game Preferred role: Player, but if I find people that I get a long with, I am more than happy to have them join my next campaign Game style: I like a mix of RP and combat, probably as close to 80/20% respectively. I like rules for fun, I am not a lawyer and don't want playing to be a legal argument. Even better if you are a long time DM and use rules from earlier editions that work better than newer ones, that is how I run my game. No metagaming, No min-Maxing. I think characters should have strengths and weaknesses which makes working as part of the team essential.
I prefer low magic campaigns and/or where magic is generally unlawful or unaccepted, but at this point beggars can't be choosers. I run games pg-13, and prefer not to have a lot of adult content, or at least tastefully done.
a level 1-20 campaign over months or even a year would be awesome.
I have played and ran Forgotten Realms from the beginning, played and run Dragonlance the same. DMed for Ravenloft and in my old group I was considered the connoisseur of it, having run everything from the original module to the entire demiplane campaign setting. Played in a couple of homebrew worlds, DMing my own original one now. But no experience with other published material like Dark Sun.
I hope to find a group of like-minded adult players.
