Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: New/a few years Location/Timezone: MST Schedule: 1 to 2 times a week, TBD Roles sought: Players, up to 6 Game style: TBD
I am a forever DM since 3.5 who has recently started getting back in to 5E. I am looking to build up a group to do at least weekly campaigns with, and am happy to welcome newer players who want to learn the game better. I try to keep things light and fun, with a focus on RP and characters, with enough seriousness to combat to keep you on your toes. I try to work stories for campaigns around players backstories, and am super happy to do homebrew campaigns, or write new ones based off of the parties interests.
If you are brand new to the game I am happy to help you go through each step of character creation, and to show you some steps to be able to make a character you are interested to play and get to know better. I would run the games through a combination of Discord, DnDBeyond, and possibly Astral for VTT if the party would like to have battle maps to play with. All of those options only require a free account to play with, so no cost outside of your time and energy.
I am looking to start the next campaign the first week of May, and would use the time until then to go over applicants and help them build up characters. I have no preference for campaign setting, although tend to stick to established DnD lore to keep things easy on me creatively, and I have all of the books that are available for DnD Beyond so we could run any official adventure they have available at this point.
I am open to more veteran players as well, but based off of all the posts with people desperate to find a beginners group, I thought I might start a more basic game to help get some newbies into it, and maybe find some people to play with more regularly than my normal groups have been able to lately.
I am in USA, MST time zone, Arizona region. I can work with most time zones as long as we don't run too late into my nights, and don't conflict with my class schedule.
Thanks for reading, and hope to play with y'all soon.
Hi Huff - I'm UK-based, old to RPGs but completely new to D&D (I know, how can that be?) - played lots of WFRP, Paranoia, Call of Cthulhu and so on when younger (I'm in my mid-40s, and "younger" here means 20+ years ago), but only slowly reading into D&D 5e, so am keen to join a beginners' group. When you say you are "GMT time zone" I'm not sure how that fits with being "Arizona based": this could, I suppose, be two nations divided by a common language, but if you are working to a GMT time zone, it could work with me.
Hi I'm really new to D&D though I've watched some actual roleplay videos and read the handbook so theoretically I have knowledge of the game but hasn't actually played one. Would appreciate it if you could include me on one of your campaigns.
Hi there, I have only played a few sessions over the passed year and my schedule conflicts with most games. I am also GMT, New Mexico-based. My preferred hours are about 6PM to 9:30 PM. I have one day off a week where my schedule is pretty open. Where do we need to put in applications?
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: Old Hand at Basic/Expert - New to 5e. Haven't played in over 25 years. Location/Timezone: CST - Wisconsin Availability: Most evenings, Weekends Preferred role: Player - Looking to relearn as a player and then DM for my daughter and her friends who are looking to start. (Not wanting to give up being a player tho!) Game style: I'm open. I can do serious RP or just casual.
great to see someone to help us nebies out. I played back in the 80s so I have some idea but things have really changed. I would be available Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday nights. I will need some hand holding to get me back up to speed.
Hi! I’ve only played a little and most of the games have fallen through or my DM just gave up. I would love to learn better and make some friends along the way.
Hey guys, just a few clarifications. I accidentally put GMT but my time zone is actually MST. The game is going to be 18+ only, not because it will be inherently written to be adult, but because I am over 30 and want to make sure we can all play any of the content without dealing with parents or anything. If enough kiddo's want to learn I can start an under 18 group to teach people to play, but this game is going to be run 18+.
There are no official applications, just respond here with your interest and I will try to get back to you as soon as I can so we can plan a sessions 0 and figure out what we would all like to play. This is going to be very laid back, so as long as we can all find a day and time that works once or twice a week, I am open to anything. Looking to do a party of 6 or less for the campaign, and it is mostly first come first serve, but with consideration of everyone's schedules.
I will be back home later this afternoon and able to respond to everyone 1 on 1 and add you to discord so we can hash stuff out, but no pressure here. If you want to play and respond I will get back to you and I can possibly help you find another beginners group that works with your schedule.
Also, everything will be free. I don't believe in charging to play. I love playing and want to spread the love for the game by making it fun for as many new players as possible.
Hello, im looking to be in a group who plays often not saying every day but i need some fun. I'm not new but i don't know much ive only played twice. i enjoy the roleplay even tho im not that good but im willing to try.
I’m down to play. Kinda have a clear schedule since I’m still in a weird form of quarantine. Also, I think my time is ahead of your time. I’m interested in good storytelling and learning more about this exciting hobby.
Hello, Goodly Companions of the Role playing arts!
I have been playing 5th edition Dnd for a while now and am branching off into DMing as well. With the state of the world being what it is, playing Dnd is a great way to connect with like minded individuals, and I would love to venture forth unto the deepest caverns and the highest cliffs with some amazingly nerdy people! Let me know if there is still a slot available!
A bit about me:
I'm 20 years old and am from the prairie provinces of Canada. I am currently a Drafting student in college but when I'm not in school, I am making character sheets, reading dnd manuals, watching/listening to dnd podcasts, or playing guitar. I have been playing dnd for around 2 years now and am looking for a new band of misfits to join.
I would love to join you guys and am looking forward to hearing back from y'all!
It looks like you've already gotten more than enough players (which is a shame because I am very interested in something like this). So I wanted to say that you're really cool for doing something like this for people! Thank you for making the community more welcoming.
