I'm not brand new, i know how to play and the rules but i still may ask questions such as "I use the dex modifier, right?". I'm not new to the roleplay genre so experienced players can still tolerate me. I don't mind also playing with other new people but make sure you're respectful and considerate to other players whilst you're trying to learn.
