I have been playing D&D since the early 80s on and off We still have a high school group that plays 1x a month. I have not done much in role playing except back in the 90s when I went to concon and other roleplaying conventions. So I will be very rusty but eager to play and learn. Hello, I'm looking to recruit new and experienced players and DM’s for a westmarch style roleplay server, all in a living world. Games are played with discord for voice and roll20 for tactile combat and exploration. We are seeking more players and Dm’s alike to build our community. Westmarch functions much like an MMORPG with numerous dms and a vast amount of players to interact with and have fantastic experiences with.

Our system is designed for great flexibility with over 25 games hosted per week. The server runs on Pacific Standard Time but games and roleplay will be 24/7.

Roleplay is highly encouraged and can done outside of games in text if you would like. We have over 80 players so lots of roelplay to be had!

The Grim Dark Adventures in Sanctuary

After the calamity, the mortals of Sanctuary were brought to the brink of extinction by Orcus and his legions of demons, undeads, and devils. The once lush vibrant world has become grim and dark a place where the weak die and the strong strive for just one more day. Civilizations have fallen and those that remain server under the heel of Orcus and his followers. Much of the wilderness is a hostile and dangerous place swarming with bandits, monsters, and other hazards. New Haven’s reputation for safety has made it a perfect place for adventurers to gather and exchange information, purchase supplies, or seek employment.

Characters start at level 3, standard or point buy. All cannon 5E DnD material is allowed. 100% free to play.

What is a westmarch server?

1. There won't be a regular group of players, but rather small groups pulled from a larger pool each session.
2. Each session will usually be entirely self contained, meaning a beginning and an end - no cliffhangers.
3. There's usually a focus on combat and discovering new adventures rather than following a storyline.
4. Dms are simply facilitators the players dictate the story this is not critcal role or a typical dnd campaign, if you are expecting that you will be disappointed.

WM-style games are typically designed to be easy to drop in and drop out of as a player, and there are usually pools of players and  DMs that split off into smaller parties to play a session whenever people are available! You may find yourself playing with entirely different players, a different DM, or both from game to game! This is in contrast to a "regular" TTRPG group, where the exact same players and single DM try to schedule times for everyone to meet up over and over.

We are highly selective of who we recruit. We do not aim to be the biggest server but rather the best.
If you expect to just come and play a game and do nothing outside of that you will not enjoy this server. You get out what you put in.
We act more as a family and supportive community rather than a mass server of nameless folks.

Would you be open to some 5.5e/2024 material? I'm wanting to do an Echo Knight, adapted to 5.5, because I really like the Entertainer background, with "Musician" feat (I'd flavor it as "story teller"). This would really build on the getting to know the the PCs and to RP, to be able to tell epic shorts, to provide heroic inspiration.
