We are planning a session 0 on Saturday, July 3rd at 5pm EST and to begin play next Saturday the 10th.
Game: D&D 5e. We have a homebrew campaign setting. Apocalyptic fantasy horror with heavy vampire overtones. Grouptype: Online. Zoom for video during gametime and Discord to keep our roleplay active and information relatively organized lol. Experience: DM has 20+ years experience, ranging from D&D 1E to 5E, Vampire: The Masquerade, recently Starfinder and among many more. We are looking for players who have experience and know how to play the game, as well. Location/Timezone: EST. Schedule: Saturday. Game lasts from 6pm-10pm. We take a 5-10 minute break around 8pm. We want players who can show up each Saturday for about 6 months, maybe up to a year depending on how quick/slow we progress through the game. We are starting at 5th level and should be level 15+ by the end. Rolessought: 1 player. Gamestyle: RP centric with plenty of battles, too.
So, it's hard to pinpoint because we have different people who enjoy different aspects of the game and we have to try and accomodate everyone. Also, sometimes controversial, dark, and mature content shows up and so for this reason we want players who are 18 and older.
Here are some questions, and please ask any of yours!
1. How quickly will you be able to respond to questions posed by the table?
2. Will you minimize distractions around you, ie., scrolling through the internet or playing videos during gameplay?
3. What is your idea of a good roleplayer?
4. How often are you willing to write RP?
5. Plot points are not kept secret from the table, but characters can keep information from their fellow adventurers. How do you feel about this?
6. Are you willing to share some of your character's background and personality with players, even if the character doesn't?
7. What would be a beneficial or detrimental influence your character could have upon the world? (I'm not asking for your character now, this question is to press the importance of goals and being active people in the realm.)
8. If you're feeling bored with the campaign, or frustrated, or something you don't like has occured, will you bring it up asap? We want everyone to have fun, of course.
9. What is your favorite aspect of the game?
10. What is something you need in the game or it would become so intolerable you wouldn't be able to play with us?
Quick question, are trans women accepted? I would love to get in a dnd game again, but the idea of ending up with a bunch of straight cis men is terrifying, so I got really excited when I saw this posting. as for the question asked in your post 1. How quickly will you be able to respond to questions posed by the table? I am not going to lie, I don't know what this means? Probably a minute or two? I can be slow at times, but I would do my best. 2. Will you minimize distractions around you, ie., scrolling through the internet or playing videos during gameplay? I sure can! 3. What is your idea of a good roleplayer? Someone who gets into it and has fun? Does not talk over others or steamroll too much. It can be hard to balance it all, but the best role player is probably someone who can take the lead when needed but who also knows how to rope others in and let others take over. 4. How often are you willing to write RP? As often as is needed? 5. Plot points are not kept secret from the table, but characters can keep information from their fellow adventurers. How do you feel about this? I think this is cool as long as everyone at the table knows that is the rule? Like if that was just someone randomly decided to do, that would be alot less fun than if it was agreed upon by all players beforehand. But in general, I like the idea. 6. Are you willing to share some of your character's background and personality with players, even if the character doesn't? I am up for that. It seems like something that would best be done according to how much the other players do it. Like a read the room type of thing. 7. What would be a beneficial or detrimental influence your character could have upon the world? (I'm not asking for your character now, this question is to press the importance of goals and being active people in the realm.) Casting a wish spell and causing some crazy randomized chaos? 8. If you're feeling bored with the campaign, or frustrated, or something you don't like has occured, will you bring it up asap? We want everyone to have fun, of course. I personally would likely take a moment to think it over, see if I am being reasonable and bring it up after the current game or before the next one. That way it can be addressed, but it does not interrupt the flow of the game. 9. What is your favorite aspect of the game? My personal favorite thing is coming up with wacky solutions. Like, using a spell in a way it was not likely to be intended, or trying something unorthodox. 10. What is something you need in the game or it would become so intolerable you wouldn't be able to play with us?
An amount of ballance, like no one player controlling the game entirely or steam rolling others or quashing inventive ideas.
Also, I guess it might be a good idea to do an about me thing? I am not super experienced, but I have done an almost year long campaign before, I did some other smaller campains in college and some oneshots. I really like the game and i enjoy the feeling of community when playing with others. Like I said before, I am a girl, I just happen to be trans. I hope that would be ok? Maybe not, and if not then this is def not the campaign for me.
Oh, and if I were to guess a class, I really like druids and I have a fun one laying around along with a fun idea or two for others.
Thank you for taking the time to read through!
