The rabble of adventurer's crept up behind the bakery. After picking the lock, a startled Jim baker let out a high pitch yelp at the 8' giant who was trying to keep things quiet. One of the zombies was alerted and quickly dispatched. With screams and illusion 12 of the zombies were attracted towards holy grounds. Unfortunately, due to his sins, the butcher had received the special favour of Orcus and returned with more undead vigour and was able to catch up with the fleeing halfling. Fortunately, by fire and arrow, the creature was dispatched. The remaining forces, unable to enter holy ground were roasted by Malvin and Norwick's fire. This spectacle became known to the temple residents as the now popular 'roast a zombie' game. Bets were placed......
And the result was tie between the spell casters....
Clearing the undead from the park left the way to the smithy open. Avoiding the obvious evil lurking in the Dragon's Rest tavern, the adventurers approached the smithy. With no perceivable danger, the silver chains and amulets were quickly looted from the smashed the display stand. Peeking into the enclosed kitchen revealed little, but there was the unmistakable sense of danger.
With Norwick and Fenren ready at the window, Davton kicked in the door and was startled by the spectre of a young girl. Her face twisted in anguish, the girl hugged the halfling, seeking the warmth and love that was now denied to her. The result was harrowing. Unable to effectively defend himself and chilled to the core, the touch of despair sapped Davton's spirit. Fortunately, Norwick's spell fire and Fenren's quick administration of holy water laid the girl to rest.
With silver and the smith's safe in tow, the adventurers headed back to holy ground for some much needed mental and physical recuperation.
