Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online (PbP only) Experience: Some experience as a player, one experience as a DM Location/Timezone: Eastern Standard Time Availability: Anytime not between 8AM-3PM EST Preferred role: Player Game style: Casual with more of a focus on roleplay/storytelling
Now that the basic details are out of the way, let me explain in detail. I tend to favor the PbP format because I enjoy writing, and I've found that the format really works well with that, both from my experiences as a player and as a DM. If I were to do a more traditional DnD experience, I'd prefer face-to-face, but there is a problem with that from a timing perspective. I work third-shift (overnight), so I don't quite get the luxury of having the same kind of availability as most people for playing.
I'm looking for an extremely casual experience made for working adults, like myself where posting daily is normal, but not expected to go on for hours. I can't spend all day at the computer while tons of messages pop up all at once for the campaign. I was very fortunate to have my first player experience be something like this (check out the link to Platinum-Plated Keys below my user name), but unfortunately, the DM vanished halfway into it. I'd like to find another experience like this, but I'm also okay if I get no responses. I'm just checking the waters to see what's out there right now. Thank you for your time if you read this!
Oh, I thoroughly enjoyed playing Platinum-Plated Keys because I could usually post once or twice a day, knowing that I was still playing and enjoying the game, but not feeling like it was consuming all of my time. I tried joining a rather large Discord that took place on Ravnica, and I thoroughly enjoyed that, but so much was going on, you felt like you had to constantly be on the server 24/7 just to keep up. The slower pace helps make it feel like something that's just a hobby for fun and not extra work. The problem is always finding groups/DMs that are also doing the same thing.

Hey this sounds perfect! I’m still new to all this but if there’s space available for more players I’d be down to join in
