Hey all first a quick little template before adding the extra stuff
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Face-to-face Experience: Any welcome Location/Timezone: Utah, Salt Lake Area, Mountain time (primary residence where we game is in Salt Lake City but we all come from different cities in the area) Schedule: So our play schedule is weird (so is the "group" but more after the template about that). We play every other Sunday (we all work for the same company, work every other week and so thats why its only every other week). Roles sought: Player. We are already in a homebrew adventure (our group is slow still in the early stages) we would give you the background information for that so you weren't completely lost (I actually joined "late" but we haven't even hit the middle of the journey yet, most things would be under advisement and could be talked about but just so you're aware you wouldn't be starting out at level one (when I first joined my one character started at level five since that was the lowest level in the group). Also, to note we have recently started taking turns to do "one shots" to folks if they want a try a hand at DMing now and than (doesnt have to be flashy, trust me on that). Game style: Current game and setting is homebrewed, technically speaking it has it's own God's (but the other ones still exist as well, DM can explain more about that), but it is in a traditional fantasy style setting. Also, while we do use jobs from the books, we do have a few things homebrewed and for the most part you just have to run things by the DM (per usual, am I right) and if it seems "overpowered" compromise can always happen... One thing for sure though you would never come to our group and be "forced" to fill some type of roll.
Most of our group has known each other for years and the majority of us start forming up around six or seven, the playing doesn't often start til like nine and goes until about one or two depending on life things. We also do play other games sometimes to take a break (board games, although one of the board games recently bought was a D&D board game lol). If you were looking to even try the group out, we are going to take a small break from our game and play Curse of Strahd (and if you tried and didnt like it or us you wouldnt have to worry about any commitments). If anything I have said interests you, or you have any questions let me know. We lost a player to a move awhile back and I do think some new blood would be fun and helpful to the overall experience. Right now were currently four strong, and that's counting the DM.
Sounds like fun. I live in Davis County and depending on which Sunday it 8s, I might be able to join. I work at a hospital and do 7 on 7 off over a weekend. What's the easiest way to contact you? Discord?
Hey, I'm pretty familiar with Pathfinder and have played a handful of 5e games, but it has been a minute. I also live in Davis county and would be interested in joining, if the others are patient with me relearning 5e. I'm free most Sundays, so I don't think that would be an issue.
Sorry for getting back to you so late it's been both an interesting and busy week.
Learning the rules over from 5e wouldnt be an issue that I can see of (when I joined the group I had never played any variation of D and D before) and when the group started playing they hadn't started out in 5e, just switched over due to "cooler features and ease of ay".
I should also add that we do things (checked to see if I said it before but it doesn't look like I did) slightly different from the rules that I could give you details about (not game breaking or cheating, most things are done for ease of play, simplification, and to make sure things are fun for the group. The main DM specifically tries to keep things fun and doesn't like the group getting frustrated over "silly things". That doesn't mean he lets everything go our way though "lol" he's a firm believer that would make us grow bored).

~ May all your rolls Crit ~
So it was kindly pointed out to me that it was rather silly (at least in my opinion), that I didn't include the dates.
This is currently our "on" week of work. So the next game night would be the 18th, and every other sunday after that.
