Hello adventurers! Jay here. If you've been playing for a while and want to know more about the D&D universe, take it to the next level, or just give back to some of the others in the community, this might be for you.
We all know recently D&D has seen an explosion of players recently. A lot of you are ready to take the next step and don't know where to start. Hopefully I can help.
A little about me: I'm 32 years old, I've been playing RPGs for over two decades and have been playing 5th edition as a player and DM for 4 years.
Over the course of the 6(ish) month campaign, you will learn how to construct lively cities full of compelling NPCs, how to play the fair and deadly villain, how to craft meaningful plotlines for your PCs and more
The 3-4 hr sessions will be split into two parts:
For the first 2-3 hrs you will play through an adventure module of your choice, starting at lvl 1.
Then for 1-2 hrs we'll have a guided writing workshop. We'll practice building and populating settlements, crafting interesting plot hooks, NPCs, setting up big moments, how to structure the adventure into chapters, etc.
It can be intimidating to take the reigns and lead a group of adventures to to their untimely deaths without their knowledge or consent, but it can also be the most fun way to play D&D.
This is a voluntary payment game. If you are having fun and feel like you're learning, $10-$25/session is a typical range for paid DMs at my level. I ask all of my players , "pay what you can afford based on what you feel it's worth."
I'm actually interested in some tools/tips for campaign writing. I have typically done my own over the years but feel there is always room for improvement. I tend to have great ideas (as most people tend to think about themselves) but then struggle working them into a story. If interested in talking more I would love to hear from you, can find me on Discord at Airacon#5783
I'd be interested in learning! The downside is that I am starting a new job so I have to focus on it more despite wanting to learn how to do this. But weekends are generally fine for me, just that I need to consistently wake up early every day. I've played a lot of rpg style games and love making characters. Unfortunately I've only played like three times (as a player) because It's just so difficult finding others to play! But yeah, if you have the time and wouldn't mind how new I am, my discord is seluj#5763
