Hi All,
Over the past few months I've built up a small community of players and DMs that play pretty regularly. We are always looking for new folks to play with and are happy to have anyone join whether they are a beginner or a 20+ year veteran player that started with AD&D. I am just kicking off our West March next week and we still have plenty of room for others to hop in so I figured I'd make a post here and see if anyone is interested. We also have pop-up one-shots a few times a week that tie into the larger world, as well as other DMs running there own content and occasionally recruiting for their longer games. I'll post the lore below for the West March, but if your interested add me on Discord Sage#6124
Intro for the West March:
Our campaign takes place within the Forgotten Realms; A war has erupted within the Moon Shae Isles as Lady Elriza Daressin has begun to expand her reach outside of Snowdown. At first the prevailing powers along the Sword Coast paid no mind to the vampire's ambition, but as time went on the area continued to destabilize and the conflict began to affect the main land's interests. In recent months these events have come to a head, and it's become clear the once quiet ruler of Snowdown has grown impatient with her agreement with Amn and has found new, more nefarious allies. 68 days ago a Masked Lord of Waterdeep was killed in his sleep in the Castle Ward, a hired group of adventurers (Campaign 1) paid to protect the lord failed, but managed to chase the Vistani assassins as they fled. The assassins were believed to be in possession of a Ring of Mind Shielding that captured the soul of the masked lord as he drew his final breath. The adventurers were last seen chasing the Vistani into a heavy fog and have yet to return.
Since the initial assassination, one by one, the other masked lords have disappeared or been found slain. Laeral SIlverhand, the Open Lord of Waterdeep, has put word out through her contacts to assemble a willing party that will serve as a vanguard in the coming war (Campaign 2).
Soon enough the Open Lord alongside the sitting Blackstaff and the Harpers assembled their so-called vanguard to lead the war effort. Unfortunately, the group has struggled to achieve much of anything since setting out. Their initial attempt to acquire resources in a newly discovered dungeon left most of the party dead; only two members survived and made their way back to Waterdeep with only sadness and failure in tow.
While the more altruistic powers allowed their force to prep and attempt to acquire greater power before setting out, The Xanathar’s Guild alongside a few other nefarious organizations persuaded some would-be pirates and thieves to set sail for the war immediately (Campaign 3). Sadly, this group has also failed to deliver anything of note. Their escapades have for the most part been futile, finding only small personal success along the way.
After nearly a month of repeated failures, the adventurers who chased the assassins into the night nearly a month ago have returned to Waterdeep. Bringing with them the soul of the Masked Lord as well as a somewhat worse for wear Mordenkainen. With their newfound power and resources these adventurers (Campaign 1), have reformed the vanguard creating The Aegis: The Shield of the Sword Coast. Since its creation The Aegis has successfully reached the Moon Shae Isles, established relations with the port town of Cobh and set up a forward operating base a few miles west.
As soldiers you will make the journey to Cobh and report to Captain Rem at the newly established base. Here you will work with other newly enlisted adventurers to help further the war effort by taking on quests and missions laid out by The Aegis, Aegir, Slawd or Captain Rem. Moreover, you are encouraged to pursue other leads, investigate unexplored areas and support the larger effort by however you see fit. There are no squabbles or rivals here, only brothers and sisters in arms.
Soldiers of the Sword Coast welcome to The Moon Shae Isles.
My wife and I are looking to join and are new to 5e. We are very interested in just getting in and playing the game. We would be interested in joining if you have open slots available.
The West March style game is just starting, but unlike traditional West Marches the impact each session has the world will stay and the world will continue to evolve with each game played. You definitely want to try to get it as early as you can, but for the most part it continually supports new players joining.
I would be very interested in joining. Ive been wanting to play in a westmarches game for a long time. Info about me is I've been playing d&d since right before 5e came out. I've been a DM for a good number of adventures but only had a chance to play in a handful. I am EST time zone so that works great for my schedule.

I'm looking to join a game as a player, been DMing for awhile. How often would people be able to rotate in on the West March?
