Newbie DM looking for players for a oneshot, Saturday 07/08, 9am GMT+1, Joys of Extradimensional Spaces (Candlekeep Mysteries)

Hi everyone,

I am a beginner DM and I’m looking for a few players to run a oneshot for. The session will take place this Saturday (07/08/21) at 9am GMT+1 and we will play the first adventure in the Candlekeep Mysteries book. It’s an escape room-style adventure in which the players explore a magical mansion and we will play at level 1. We will be using discord for voice and roll20 for maps, tokens, character sheets and dice rolling.

I am still a pretty inexperienced DM and therefore I’m looking for players who can be patient and understanding about this and will not deliberately try to derail the story. I’m hoping here to get some more experience DMing and expand my network of cool people to play with and so if we find out we like playing together, you will get invited to all my future games too. I’m stressing this again, I am a beginner DM so not everything is going to be perfect and I might make mistakes but I’m very open to feedback, enthusiastic and want players to have fun at my games. If you’re looking for a professional DM with years and years of experience, please do not apply as we will most likely just both end up frustrated. To filter the people who don’t read the posts, please start the answer to the last question with the word “pineapple”, then respond as normal. My DMing style is mostly RAW (rules as written), in ambiguous situations I try to go with common sense, if I don’t know a particular I will generally rule on the spot in favour of the players to avoid slowing the gameplay.

I am looking for nice and friendly players, willing to overlook my occasional stumbles and inexperience to run the game for. Strictly 18+ please (there’s no ”mature content” in the module but I am generally uncomfortable playing with underage players, sorry). No rules lawyers, spotlight hogs, murderhobos or any other types of toxic and disruptive players please, thank you. If someone starts being toxic mid-game, they will be kicked out. For creating characters, all official content allowed, no homebrew or Unearthed Arcana. Free feat starting out, for stats either take standard array or roll openly in roll20, no pre-rolled ability scores please. There will ideally be 4 people in the party but I can run with 3 too.
