I have extensive experience with 1E and a little 2E, but, due to life, I have not played D&D in a long time. I now am able to get back to it and would love to dive right in.I want to learn 5E, as well as other games such as Pendragon and Dark Eye. While I haven't played a TTRPG in a long time, I have always remained rpg adjacent(books, video games, etc.). Ask me anything you like. Happy Gaming!

Damn.... your post might've well been written by me.  Last time I played was pre-THAC0, but a very strange domino effect of events has gotten me thinking about playing again.

I've d/l'd the 5e manuals, created a couple characters with waaaaaaay too detailed backstories on Beyond (mostly so that the site would auto prefill all those roll modifiers), and gotten familiar with the mechanics by watching Twitch and YouTube streaming games, but I figure the only way to truly suss it out is to wade back in with a patient DM.
