[LFP][FREE][D&D5e][Homebrew][HEAVY Role Play][Thur. 1pm Eastern, Weekly] Looking for 1 to 3 players who greatly appreciate RP

Hello! My friend Rose and I are looking for a few extra role players to join us on a grand adventure! We will be playing on Roll20!

What we are looking for in players:

We are looking for players that engage in heavy role play with dedication to your character, party, and the world. We want you to take notes, be on time and tell us if you are going to be late or can’t make it! Please be social, in character at least and no power gaming just for the sake of your numbers being bigger. Be ready to explain why your character has certain skills through role play!

We take our characters seriously and wish for you to do so as well!

Take Feep for example. He had an absolutely adorable and innocent character that accidentally killed an NPC. Everyone in the party was distraught and refused to talk to her about it. This lead to her guilt getting the better of her and sadly she committed suicide as a result. We want to feel your character’s emotions, their fears, and their hopes.

However, we are not looking for voice actors or the like. If you want to jump into a voice go for it but don't expect the same from the other players. Not everyone has the confidence or skill to try! It's more important that your character is authentic and makes sense, regardless of how they sound.  

We expect a certain level of seriousness, commitment, and a willingness to exit one’s comfort zone for the benefit of the role play at hand. Rose and I get along with just about any sensible person and so should you. We expect every play to be able to separate the player and the character, accepting harsh and heavy hitting role play appropriately. You can not simply declare “it is what my character would do.” You must role play out why your character is doing something and expect others to interfere or influence! Give the party a chance to see and learn from your character, don’t just kill that NPC and explain after. We should see your character becoming more and more agitated, angry, blind with fury.

If all of that did not scare you off then we are halfway done.

Character Concept: "My birth was not surrounded by gold, I was born amongst the stars, but an evil, twisted mage stole me from my guardians nest. Forced unto a new life and new master before I could even speak. I served my new master for almost two decades, up until my 18th birth year. A whole decade beside his table, forced to be a guinea pig to his masochist thoughts. Over, and over, and over i was subjected to these tortures, until a dark abyssal energy grew inside me. On the 18th year of my service, my 18th birth year under my "new life", the floodgates I had built up around this un-ending wave of terror; burst forth and spilled all of the unspeakable atrocities unto my master wizard. Once I gained back control of the twisting vortex of terror, I was took aback to see I had completely obliviated my former master. His body lay strewn across wet cobble stones that had plaqued my visions for 11 years. I collapsed into a puddle of my own making.. Stirring once more, i locked myself away in the mages quarters, surrounding myself with my former masters' books. I spent  years reading book, after book, after book; trying to figure out a way to calm the beast within me.. After 50 years, i had exhausted my resources in my new found chamber. During this time, I had discovered the old mages old relics and stash of gold. I took what was mine, rightfully earned.. After 50 years deep in thought of my actions, i accepted what i must do. I must stop this spirit that haunts me, or i will die trying.

Hi! I am 27, female, from belgium and would love to get back into D&D. I like both the roleplay aswell as the combat and haven't had the chance to really get into it again. Is it online with Voice chat? Video?

Character concept: A half-elf Bard (with the feat: linguist either obtained by being level 5 or higher or if the DM agrees to it). She is a singer and slight healer. Calm in most situations and sees both sides of an argument. It can put her in trouble with taking a side. She struggles with choices. She likes to learn new languages, mainly so she can sing for any audience. It's not for fame or fortune. She likes the challenge of it, makes it a game where people can request a language. A caring personality means she likes to help.

(I am willing to change things if needed and have another character in the wings aswell)

Hi I'm 22, Male, Haven't played D&D in years, Don't  mind RPing it's just hard for me at times to do so. Um it's kinda hard to explain my character concept but here goes. 

CHARACTER: here's the rough idea I made for fun https://ddb.ac/characters/56210445/VOurah His name is Turok and is a Half Orc Monk who because of his back story is Chaotic Good because of how the Tribe he belongs to which formed its own Monastery dealt with its Duty of Living in the Northern most Mountains fighting back Demons and Devils. Since he is the last surviving member and needs to find allies to help him or craftsmen who'll help him become better at the needed crafts of Leatehrworking and Smithing so that when he returns home he has the necessary skills to continue the duty that he carries on his shoulders. I'm more then willing to change and make this fit into your campaign the best way it can I would just like be able to play the game again. If possible I'd like to Multi class Monk with say maybe a Ranger or Barbarian with Bear Totem but this isn't a huge thing for me

Hi I'm 21, male, SUPER glad to have found this thread, as a creative writing enthusiast, role play is my favorite part of D&D! The last group I was in was all about power gaming and it eventually pushed me away from playing

Here is my character concept:

Arlo is a towering, gruff-looking man covered head to toe in tattoos and scars and has a giant, rusty axe strapped to his back. Despite his appearances, in combat Arlo will sometimes pull out a small, pink spellbook to cast spells with. This spellbook belonged to his daughter, Mari, who was mysteriously taken about a year ago while attending a wizard academy. Arlo, who had been working hard for many years as a bodyguard and bouncer to pay for his daughter's education, was notified of the incident. The only thing left to remember her by was her treasured spellbook.

Arlo's biggest motive is to try to find out what happened to his daughter. After a year of searching without any leads, however, he is beginning to lose hope that Mari is even alive. In order to honor her dream of becoming a great wizard one day, Arlo decided to start learning wizardry using the last memento he has of Mari.

We can of course talk about classes and logistics of the character later on, but I wanted to give you a brief character intro before anything else!

   Hey, my name is Nick and I am 20 years old. I've been looking a roleplay heavy D&D game for a while now, as much as I enjoy the occasional fight it often feels meaningless without proper connections to the world and characters. I see you've already got quite a few applications but I'd be thrilled if I got to be a part of such a campaign.

   I have a general character concept that I'd like to try out (Rogue/Ranger type) but it depends heavily on the nature of your world and setting, which is how I prefer to create my characters and connect them to the world; all of this "backstory" or "description" is thus largely open to rewrite.

   Valcaryn grew up in one of the less prominent noble elven families, with a father who harbored great ambitions and expectations for his children. Valcaryn was one of the younger siblings and seen as a disappointment by the rest of his family, never seeming to take his responsibilities seriously. One night, however, while out on a trip, he and his sister were abducted and forced into slavery digging in some mine in search of a lost relic.

   Valcaryn tried to protect his sister, even when he shouldn't have, and as a result was punished frequently. At one point, the overseers were planning on blinding him as punishment, but decided instead to simply blindfold him as a cruel joke, and beat his sister anytime they saw him without it on. Eventually, late one night, they find the lost artifact as it beckons Valcaryn to approach, the mine shaft begins to cave-in. Everyone scrambles to escape and Valcaryn with his sister head to the entrance but get separated.

   He makes it to the entrance and waits for her, when she doesn't come out he tries to venture back in by the tunnel seals and he is unable to do so. Believing her to be dead, he returns to his family only to be blamed for his sister's passing and subsequent banishment. Valcaryn now looks for new purpose, and information regarding the artifact he once came into contact with, which he keeps dreaming about. All the while, however, he continues to wear his blindfold, a punishment he inflicts on himself as penance for allowing his sister to perish.

Upon reaching adulthood, the twins Daemoria and Raelynn were tasked with being the guardians of a moonblade (Any artifact would work). 
A group of thugs were in search of the artifact/location of the item. The twins refused to give up the location which resulted in tortuous methods to extract information. Raelynn was killed when the torturer got too zealous.
Daemoria was burned down the left side of her face, neck and collar bone. The wound has resulted in serious scarring. Has never sort any treatment as she believes she deserved it for failing her sister. the information was not revealed and the blade remains safe. Daemoria fled her old life, no longer wanting anything to do with it as a way to cope (and deny) everything that had happened to her. She’s been travelling for six months, since it happened however still suffered from PTSD manifested symptoms.
she is reckless, sharp tongued, cares deeply, sarcastic and anxious. Prior to her ordeal her alignment was CG. It has since shifted to more of a CN.  

. I’m much more of an “in person” storyteller then in text so hopefully what I’ve written does Daemoria justice. 
I am still relatively new to D&D but am getting the handle on it and loving it.

Character Concept: A middle-aged wizard from a far off land with a deep sense of wanderlust. Not your scrawny, fragile bookworm, he is more than capable of simple feats of strength which aid him in exploring the world around him. A very personable man, he has no sense of personal space and shows affection in very different and unusual ways. Even as he searches for answers to the unknown, he relishes in learning about others and about the land he is discovering.

Character Concept: Growing up in a fair sized town, Ander learned the value of hard work and helping others from his grandparents whom he grew up with.  Wroclaw sits in the foothills of the Black Mountains, a source of many hours of daydreaming.  Surely dwarves mined those mountains, hiding from ancient dragons who lurked among it's snowy peaks.  One day, he mused.  As he grew up, rumors of orcs and goblins from the south became raids which now being old enough, he was pressed into service by the local baron.  Nightmares from those days still haunt him.  Once that season was over, his grandfather told Ander of the opportunity to study under the local paladins.  The ability to heal and be closer to their patron deity was more than appealing.  A chance that he seized upon.

Hello, I skimmed through all of the other responses and I seem to be the youngest here, hope wont be a problem though. 

Age: 13

Character concept: Inastina Cithreth is a high elf life cleric, coming from a wealthy family which got raided by a powerful mage casting spells to send people insane, the wards defended against it but Inastina, having a weak psyche took permanent damage, having hallucinations. She learned to deal with this, gaining some sort of mental strength through the weakness and starts becoming a bigger part of society. She then discovers her affinity to life spells and starts working on them, becoming a healer cleric. At the same time, knowing she is weak but fast, she starts training to stand her ground in a fight. Amidst all this, she becomes interested in exploring and the material plane, venturing in through one of the crosses across realms to start a new and hopefully exciting life

The character is still a work in progress, but I should get it done by tomorrow, discord tag is Withero#3755. Note that I'm new to D&D, have never played before since every campaign I got into got delayed into never happening. I still enjoy roleplaying, I'm pretty good at it having a couple years experience and I think D&D will be a cool new concept, especially this campaign since I usually prefer rp over combat in RPG games.
