New Player looking for a group to join/learn to play

HI! I'm looking for a group to join that can help me learn to ropes. I have a character made but am willing to create a new one to fit a homebrew campaign.

I'm on the east coast so only groups in the EST, and adults-only group, please.

If I can join a group of parents as well that would be awesome, but not required.
