HELLO!! IF THIS POST IS STILL UP, I AM STILL LOOKING!!

Normally I'm not one to run two games at once, but after years of writing lore for this Homebrew setting, I have OFFICIALLY finished the Core Guide. I've found myself falling back in love with this setting, and desperately want to share it with those who would appreciate and engage with the world that I've made. As such, I've decided to open this game up since I've got more than enough free time. Please come prepared to read (or skim, I don't mind) a 9k word google doc filled to the brim with custom lore.

My name is Desi! I'm an 18/NB DM running a PBP Game and a newer voice game. I took a year break from D&D (and Roleplay in general) and am just now getting back into it. Before my break, I played for about five years, primarily as the DM of my groups. I've completed one 1-20 Campaign with bunch of old friends, and am looking for a similar experience! My DMing style is very RP/Story based, with fun voices and flowery descriptions. I have spent hours working on this setting, and am excited to spend hours more doing prep! I feed off of validation, and the more engaged my players are, the more engaged I am.

About The Game - I am looking for a hybrid of Voice and Text. We'll have weekly voice sessions on Saturdays 5:00PM CST and will do "Downtime" text-RP throughout the week. The text RP will be canon to the story, but will take place over travel time, or even when someone else is having a scene! In particular, I'm looking for people who are both excited for the campaign AND their characters. That being said, I ask that no one come in with a premade character. I'd like to sit down with everyone individually and create a character tailored for the setting and overarching plot. If this seems like you, you may be a perfect fit for the game!

About The Playstyle - This is a Roleplay and Story oriented game with combat acting to push the plot forward. Players will be able to avoid combat encounters or talk themselves out or into one at their leisure. This setting is very open-world, with a touch of necessary build-up at the beginning that leads into a loosely designed main plot that could be completely ignored (though I would be very sad!) I tie as many of my player's backgrounds into the main plot as possible.. and will do my damnest to get every player emotionally invested. If an NPC is crying, so am I. Probably.

Player Requirements -

18+ - I'm not comfortable playing with anyone under the age of 18, as I have just turned 18. NO NSFW, but we may explore darker themes.

LGBTQ+ Friendly - I am VERY queer, and will implement those themes into my games. No, you do not need to be LGBTQ+ to join, but I do not tolerate bigots at my table.

Consistent - Please be able to consistently make scheduled sessions. We probably won't play if someone is missing.

I will say that I typically try and find groups with other people around my age, so if this ends up being a younger group overall it may not be the right fit, but I wanted to throw my hat in and see just in case it ends up being a varied age group. As well, I’m still figuring out my work schedule but do sometimes work the closing shift on saturdays and so fair warning there are times where I wouldn’t be able to play. 5E Experience: I have been a DM for a number of games and am about to begin a Curse of Strahd/Ravenloft campaign, so I can say with pretty much certainty that I've got 5e down pat.
RP Experience: I've been in theatre my entire high school career and even managed to win a few awards for it! However, I can't emphasize how much that is not a brag. Honestly, being a theatre kid should detract from your perception of me. I'm also a pretty good writer, if I do say so myself.
About You! - Huge, huge nerd that wants to play D&D instead of just being the DM (as much as I love it, it can definitely be a pain). I did not get into D&D through Critical Role, but god damn if Laura Bailey and Liam O'Brien didn't make me fall in love with it. I love all sorts of story-telling mediums, but I honestly think D&D is one of the most incredible ways to experience a story, especially one with as much care as it seems like you've put into it. About You! I Have not played past lv14 in 5e however it was a wizard. I am comfortable with any role/position but would love to play something I haven't before I would put my exp in 5e at around 500 hours emersion. Played alot of earlier versions more than 5e but feel confident with harder class roles. I usually avoid younger groups but after DMing a game with loose rules for my neighbor, his daughter and some kids she invited I feel DnD deprived. I am excited to start playing again. As far as sat at 5pm CST works perfect for me. As far as RP I can get into character very fast and not loose focus of how my character would feel. I am not a trained actor and lack any formal training. I was a small business owner for the past 20 years now I am full time online student.
