The year is 2044. Despite the predictions of those closely following the progression of VR, it didn’t truly become a (virtual) reality until 2038. Though it had seemed that the lines between reality and the virtual world had become blurred, online services had not been fully refined until June of 2043. In January of 2044, the elusive gaming company called Asphodel finally announced that their MMO (The fourth fully functioning VRMMORPG in existence), would be coming to the public in July. The timeline of this RP begins on July 27th, two days after the release of EA:O.
Due to modern-day scalping, it was near impossible to get a game of this caliber after its launch. And so, by the 3rd of July, roughly 300,000 players were distributed across the continent of Elysia and Asphodel announced the approximated shipment dates for new stock. The internet was certainly encapsulated before the release, but non-avid gamers were chasing copies due to the wide variety of gameplay options showcased on streaming services. Through some unknown method, you managed to get your hands on a copy of the game by the end of the month, and here we are!
Sup!
I'm looking for 4-5 players to play a homebrew campaign set in EA:O, as well as somewhat taking place in reality.
About the schedule: Filler will be primarily text-based, but voice sessions will more so be for special occasions in plot/when the time permits, so it'll really depend! I'm thinking that Saturdays and Sundays will be the days for a set group campaign, or when a group quest canonically takes place. FYI I am EST.
As for characters: We'll talk it out after we properly speak, yeah? I’m certainly expecting good interactions and for great dynamics to be cultivated.
I've changed systems enough so that progression works in a way different way. It's still being refined but don't catch up if you're not okay with skill points, attribute points, and generally more skills. It will seem like a grind, similar to a real RPG but if you play along I will definitely grant leeway to those who play smarter not harder. I personally am a newer DM but I'd be looking for relatively experienced people as well, thanks.
Also, gay people exist! ' Didn't put LGBT+ Friendly in the title because frankly if you're looking for a post without that in the title on purpose, I don't want you around.
