Game: D&D 5e Group Type: Online (voice via discord, Play and camera via Roll20) Experience: We welcome any level of experience as long as you are committed TimeZone/Schedule: We play every Friday 21:00 to 01:00 BST (UK Timezone) Roles sought: Player
We are looking for one or two players to join an existing campaign. One of our founding members has had to leave the campaign, so we have an existing group of 4 players, and would like to increase this to a total of 5-6 players to ensure we always have enough players to run sessions every Friday.
In terms of scheduling, the day and times are fixed, and will always run at this time. If we are missing a lot of players or the DM is unavailable, we will run a one shot instead, so there is always an opportunity to play in this time slot.
We have played 30 sessions, and characters in the group is now level 5, so any character joining can expect to start with a level 5 character.
The campaign is set in Forgotten Realms, but is a custom written campaign. It integrates some aspects of existing or even old converted adventures as side quests, but the main story is a homebrew called "The Mark of Hallandor". I won't reveal too much of the current status or story wince this would emerge through the interaction of meeting the existing players. The style of the campaign is to tie in with the lore of FR, albeit in a parallel story. So whether you are new to Forgotten Realms or know a lot of lore, you should find a rich and interesting world to play in.
The campaign is aiming for a good blend of RP and combat. We do use a range of house rules that makes the campaign slightly grittier such as:
Weapon/focus and armour damage on critical fails/hits.
Skills and spells needs to be learned during downtime on level ups.
Hit point increases are rolled
Exhaustion levels and (custom) lingering injuries on death saves.
Expectation of proper inventory management for all players
Options to customise weapons and gear
Each session include inspiration awards at the end for good RP, and a round up of how the session went.
We are looking for players that are willing to commit long term to the campaign. We have a discord server for chats, voice, and general discussion during the week. The main game is run on Roll 20, using voice via discord but maps and cameras on roll20. The existing player group is a mix of experiences with playing D&D, so your prior experience is not super important - we're a helpful group that is happy to support someone new, or to work with someone experienced.
In terms of character styles, the campaign is based on a set of fundamentally "good" behaviours. E.g. as a group you are more inclined to help than to hurt. You don't have to be squeaky clean, but I am not interested in players that are evil alignment. Overall, we only want applications from players that are 18 years or older to fit with the rest of the group. The campaign is not overtly explicit in any adult content - but there are from time to time darker themes in the campaign. We are open and tolerant, and polite to each other - and expect the same from players joining the campaign.
We keep character sheets on DnD Beyond, and some content sharing is available, so you have options for characters. I do expect you to keep track of your sheet, know your characters abilities and keep it up to date.
The current group consist of:
An elven cleric
A tiefling sorcerer
A bugbear barbarian
A goblin rogue
So if you have ideas for characters you think would complement the group, and are interested in playing in a long term campaign that is now moving up into the next tier of challenges (e.g. level 5+), in a stable time slot, then please leave a response here on DnDByond. Please provide a bit of information on the following:
Your level of experience with playing D&D and any of the tools we use
Confirm that you have a working microphone setup(camera is optional but preferred for better interacitons)
A little about your own play style/preferences (e.g. RP heavy, combat, mix etc.)
Confirm that the time slot works for you (the time is fixed. We will have players that occasionally can't make a session - and as long you can provide a heads up in reasonable time, that is of course ok)
Ideas for a character
I will have a hook for how characters join the campaign, but the rest of the back story will be up to you to make, but happy to discuss that with on boarded players.
Let us know if you are interested. I will respond with a message here on DnD Beyond to everyone who applies while the thread is open.
The selection of a player isn't a first come/first served, but also about who we think will fit best in the campaign. Single line responses or just a discord name will not the considered
I'm 36 (God that sounds old when I write it down) I've been playing adventure league for a few years now, but have been looking to get into a more regular game/party for a while now.
And the Friday evening 21:00 onwards slot, you mentioned would be perfect with the kids and work etc
At the moment in my current character I'm playing in my usual (adv league) game is a gnome moon druid called ankle biter. He's basically like one of the lost boy taken from an orphanage (as he says I have no parents, I was an onlyphan) and raised in a group by a fey. He's a little reckless, or fearless and very trusting (he befriended a cannibal last time out, completely unaware of what he was and that he was probably going to eat him) he's very good at instigating things/processing the story and on occasion getting the party into sticky situations due to these child like traits.
He's currently level 5 and it would be fun to keep him alive (as obviously adv league is only a finite number of sessions) but saying that I am open to making something completely different, and there's a.somethings that I've not tried yet, so I'm up to do anything 🙂
I will say I'm not the strongest at RP, but I'm not a meta game type, so I won't say "I want to roll for..." I try to act in my characters, character and speak as them. Just not great with voices etc
My play style so far with the characters I've played has been largely combat based, but so far with my druid it's been very useful being able to poke and prod things with reckless abandon to make things happen in non combat situations.
Hi there, if you're still interested in looking for players, I'm available on Fridays also.
I'm 25 and have been playing 5e for about 6 years now. Character-wise, I tend to play a lot of support-style classes like Bard but I can fill pretty much any role. I'm not the strongest at RP, but I act as my character would.
My playstyle is similar to my choice of class. I usually tend to play supportively, staying back and buffing or healing party members but as I said before, my choice of class can fit pretty much any play style.
If you have any further questions, my discord is Ouroboros#3090. I look forward to hearing from you guys!
Sounds fantastic! I love Forgotten Reams and have GMed a few campaigns set in it, thought that was over 2 decades ago so won't be burdened by too much knowledge. Fifth level is a fun level. Your Friday time slot seems good for me long term, and my preference is definitely for an ongoing campaign. If I understand correctly Fridays, UK 21:00 hours equals GMT +0. I'm in Houston, Texas so that's 3pm for me, no problem as I am fortunate enough to be master of my own schedule. An age group in the 20's is fine (for me at least), I have adult friends of all ages from gaming. As I am an experienced team player, I have worked with many styles of games and players. Below is my player blurb, which directly answers most of your questions.
Character wise, I'm open to several. Do you allow multiclass? One character I have in mind is a Bard/Rogue. Another is a Warlock/Bard. Looks like you are pretty open on races. :)
Glad to get on a call with you if you want to chat before making a decision.
Game: Play in D&D. (Campaign preferred, weekly preferred), open 3.5 to 5e, homebrew Group preferred: Online. Platform / tech: Open. Using Beyond, D20 and Discord currently. Have 1080p webcam/mic, good internet connection, and cell phone. Experience: veteran player and GM for 30 years. Location/Timezone: Houston, CST Availability: Flex schedule, evening /late. Preferred role: Looking to play! Any level. Looking for a campaign, but open to shorter series. Game style: Games should be fun, social storytelling experiences! To me, that means a good storyline like a book or movie (but of course player-driven rather than fixed path on rails) and a world with depth, or a wide-open world simulation-style where players have to explore to create their own paths and purpose. Character interaction or "role-playing" is great within the plot and goals (gaining information, soliciting aid, investigating) but not so much extended random fluff "role-playing" such as just sitting at the bar chatting for hours with furthering the story. Fast combat is critical so the game doesn't drag. While I play board games and can play hardcore tactics and min/max, I prefer campaigns with fast combat and character interaction (Firefly), problem-solving (Burn Notice, Indiana Jones, Conan the B), moral dilemmas (SG-1, Star trek should we stick our nose into fixing this culture? It worked so well last time...). Tight team play, playing well, punching out of the party's weight class is fun to me and very rewarding. I dislike party conflict amongst characters (when it is beyond some friendly jibes between the elf and the dwarf), and conflict between players doesn't fly at all. Parties with goals to save the world, or protect the innocent, or accomplish some mission are attractive. That doesn't mean stuffed shirts though! Every good adventure story needs at least one rogue type! The seeder elements make for good stories. Still, I am not looking to play with evil characters, and typically gravitate towards C.G. (L.G to true Neutral). Too often I see parties made up of characters who would never agree to be in a party together if it was the real world. So the characters start off being misplayed and things can cascade downhill from there. There are many possible exceptions, sure, it just needs a good enough, believable reason. Group of prisoners work together to escape, the King/ Duke/ High Cleric/ Great Wizard put together a team for a mission, etc. A good start is important!

Hello all - This campaign is open for one or two players to join now. Unfortunately, the Friday evening time slot is proving difficult for one of our players, so we are seeking someone to join the group, increasing the group from 4 players to 5 or maximum 6 players.
The only real changes to the description above is that the team composition has changed slightly, but we are open to pretty much any type of class - but note that we are looking for good aligned characters.
So feel free to get in touch if you are interested - first session for a new player would be the 5th or 12th November to line up with the ongoing campaign.
Hey there! I'm Zak, 22, and I'm relatively new to posting/replying on this site but I've played the good ol' dnd for a moderate 7 years now.
To answer your questions;
Your level of experience with playing D&D and any of the tools we use 7 years of playing, have played nearly every class on base phb and I like to roleplay and get stuck into the combat on levels that the rest of the party allow (I can delve right into my character for a more RP heavy or can tone it back as to not seem too eager!). Evidently I know my way around DnDBeyond, Roll20 is something I have used a fair bit in the past but not recently due to people wanting to try out Foundry but that should be no matter.
Confirm that you have a working microphone setup(camera is optional but preferred for better interacitons) I currently have a webcam and headset microphone that I am happy to use and show off my delightfully messy note taking!
A little about your own play style/preferences (e.g. RP heavy, combat, mix etc.) Briefly mentioned above but I am happy to mould right into whatever the DM/Party currently have. This is your game and I am the lucky one being invited to join (obviously pending).
Confirm that the time slot works for you (the time is fixed. We will have players that occasionally can't make a session - and as long you can provide a heads up in reasonable time, that is of course ok) I am a UK player so Friday 9pm - 1am works wonderfully for me!
Ideas for a character It seems like your current party has all the notes hit; a healer, spellcaster, assassin, and pseudo-tank. So depending on which one of your players unfortunately now can't make it, I am fully willing to sit right into a similar spot. The characters I have currently built/interested most in playing are a Elven Fighter/Artificer (suited for dart/chakram throwing), or a Dragonborn Warlock (tank/heavy frontline). However, I am more than willing on short notice to create another character on the spot if your rules are allowing for certain classes/races. (I do have a Goblin Druid ready that is completely mad about frogs and has a swarm of them, if that hits your fancy)
I am currently available on the 5th and 12th, and any Friday up until if you want to get to know me/ask me any questions. My discord is Zak#4680. Look forward to hearing from you!
Hi, I'm Yuki! I'm on the older end and am looking to join a UK/EU based group! My partner is also looking to join a group with me as well, and he has a little less experience with RP than I do. We're based in UK.
Your level of experience with playing D&D and any of the tools we use I started playing in the middle of the pandemic and have been in two groups, one of them has been disbanded. I am comfortable with Roll20 as that's what my current group uses as well.
Confirm that you have a working microphone setup(camera is optional but preferred for better interacitons) Definitely, I cannot imagine life without Discord nowadays as a gamer.
A little about your own play style/preferences (e.g. RP heavy, combat, mix etc.) I do quite like the RP and character development aspect of a campaign.
Confirm that the time slot works for you Yes! It'd be perfect for me as an after work thing on Fridays.
Ideas for a character I was an eladrin bard in the campaign that got disbanded, and would love to put her in a new campaign.
