Hello folks, names Bacon. I currently and running a discord for the maps and other content I am making. It is a storefront with map bundles and homebrew content for sale, commissions accepted, and a special place called The Cellar where we will hold our games. Both original modules and our own homebrew.
Everyone is welcome to come join us at the Discord to chat, share ideas and so forth. In order to play in the cellar we do require a monthly membership. This is to better ensure that players are serious about the games. It takes quite a bit of time to set up a game and the other players take time from their families or other activities. So this helps to solidify those who will be serious about the game.
Things are still a work in progress over in the Discord as I am still in early stages of setting everything up. I just need to open the doors and let folks in now and adjust from there! So hope to see some new faces and make some new comrades!
Your Cellar sounds interesting. I like the idea of a serious gaming group. DnD is so amazing with a great group, but can drag all too easily. I'm a veteran player/GM 30 years, Grayhawk, Forgotten Realms, etc. FYI - below is my player LFG listing particularly about my style and expectations. I'm not creating any content currently; rather I'm looking to play. I am a skilled reviewer, system and content designer with 8 years industry experience. I was the founder of Gameworld.com, the first venture capital funded online multiplayer RPG in the 90's before ultima. Can you tell me more about the Cellar and any campaigns available?
Thank you
Discord: Greenman #3636 Game: Play in D&D. (Campaign preferred, weekly preferred), open 3.5 to 5e, homebrew Group preferred: Online, 18+ Platform / tech: Open. Using Beyond, D20 and Discord . Have 1080p webcam/mic, good internet connection, and cell phone. Experience: veteran player and GM Location/Timezone: Houston, CST Availability: Flex schedule, evening /late/ very late. Preferred role: Looking to play! Any level. Looking for a campaign, but open to shorter series. Game style: Games should be fun, social collaborative storytelling experiences! To me, that means a good storyline like a book or movie (but of course player-driven rather than fixed) and a world with depth (LOTR, Forgotten Realms), or a wide-open world simulation-style where players have to explore to make their own paths and purpose. While I am a strategist who plays board games and can play hardcore tactics and min/max, I prefer campaigns with fast combat (fog of war) and great character interaction (firefly), problem-solving (Burn Notice, Indiana Jones, Conan the B), moral dilemmas (SG-1, Star Trek should we stick our nose into this culture? Again? It went so well last time....). Role-playing conversations in character are great when it advances the story, but I'd rather not get bogged down in acting out hours in a tavern unless the party is collecting vital information as part of developing the plot. Persuading the guard, NPC, Baron are usually better as conversations than skill roles. I prefer tight teamwork and dislike party conflict. If I was an Avenger I'd be Cap, trying to bring the team together, or perhaps Loki restructured as more of a Hans Solo type. Seduction is for the real world and is flat and of little interest in an RPG. Parties with goals to save the world, village or protect the innocent are most common. That doesn't mean stuffed shirts though. Every good adventure story needs a rogue type! Still, I am not looking to play with evil characters, and typically gravitate towards C.G. characters though occasionally play Reluctant Good - a neutral with good tendencies (i.e. Hans Solo).
