Lost a couple of players to RL interference, started out with a group of 6 and the cast could use a little expanding.
Looking for people who are good at character roleplay; the campaign that I'm running is more interaction-driven than combat. Some homebrew rules are in effect to try and maintain character sustainability so players aren't knocked out for days until combat resolves and keep everyone playing and involved.
Characters will start at level 2. You may multi-class right from the get-go, as well, and all races are available for play.
This campaign is designed for good/heroic characters, so antiheroes and pure survivalists need not apply.
The current party makeup is as follows: half-elf warlock, tiefling ranger, human artificer, and satyr bard. Currently the party is accompanied by a half-orc cleric and a centaur bard that I am playing. All are also level 2.
The campaign is in an original setting with more than a few custom creatures to encounter with a heavy emphasis on 'sensible mission structure' meaning there won't be traditional dungeon crawls, but rather, missions will take place in practical places; working your way through a fortress with a functional room layout rather than an underground labyrinth that would serve no practical function and would take decades to construct.
Quick and dirty setting notes:
Muskets and single-shot pistols are common in the military, but are almost unheard of in civilian hands. If you walk into a town wearing a gun, expect to be HEAVILY scrutinized. The wilderness between major settlements is typically avoided and very few individuals would dare try to make their living outside civilization. The wilds are dangerous and thick with hostile life, so travelers set out in well-guarded caravans or fly by riding huge manta ray-like animals affectionately called kites. Towns and cities exist behind huge border walls that keep out most troublemakers. The resources a city needs to sustain itself will also be behind these walls, so when players enter a major city, after passing the gates, they'll have to travel past a considerable amount of farm land before they actually get to the city proper. The major walled cities have engineers trained in magic to provide more modern infrastructure to the average homes; indoor plumbing is common and standard and the more wealthy cities and towns have magically-powered street lights. Practical magic basically gives most towns an early industrialization era feel rather than a medieval one, though swords and armor are still widely used due to their greater reliability and some animal hides can be made into armor that can stand up to musket fire.
The jump-in point will be right at the beginning of a campaign chapter, so you won't be getting dropped in right in the middle of something, so your characters can introduce themselves to the existing party in a more natural way.

I have never played post by post, is this a game that starts at a certain time or goes on by the day? Also when we roll for attacks or skill checks are we doing this in dnd beyond or taking pictures?
Hello! I am very much interested in this. May I ask what time zone are you playing in? I have a character ready for this; a cleric sorcerer protector aasimar. I am very excited reading through your brief summary. I'm quite a newbie and had only played 4 sessions of games before. I also had never use this play by post(?) thing. I really hope I can join and our time zone will allow it. I am in GMT +8 by the way.
Okay, I searched what play by post is and I am very much into it. I really hope I can join this. I hope to hear from you soon :)

Basically, you play via forum posts. There's no timezones to worry about, you just check into the thread every so often throughout the day on your own time to see if anyone else has made a post yet. It's slower than conventional D&D but it's also way more relaxed and it allows you to flex your writing muscles a bit more, if you are the writer type. You don't really need to worry about turn order outside of combat, either. You just use the dice roller feature here on the forums like so:
8 Attack: 20 Damage: 6
if the results are tampered with, the forum post will make a note of any changed values in the dice rolling block, so it's fair. If you move your pointer over the dice rolls, you can see exactly what was rolled for the result, as well.
Oh that actually sounds like a lot of fun and I would like to join, please let me know when to have a character ready if you are still looking for players. Do you do first 3lvls hp at max or is it roll from get go?
Since you have a cleric I would like to play a monk way of the open fist if possible, then later on multiclass into cleric some for extra heals. Also is this the thread we would be playing on? Or is there a different one we would be on? Will the characters be made in dnd beyond? And I promise last question are we manually rolling stats or taking standard array if making in dnd beyond?

The cleric and monk that I'm playing are just NPC party members, they don't necessarily need to stay with the party at all times, so play whatever you want. I try and form the adventure around the party's composition, no matter what form it takes.
And yes, this would all be happening here on D&DB.
Finally, for stats, I prefer rolling manually using the dice rollers here, but you can use the "Reroll 1's" method and roll 3 sets, then choose your favorite from them.
So, for example:
Ability scores: 1110181499
Ability scores: 151112141415
Ability scores: 171615131214
So, using this, any 1's that are rolled are automatically rerolled, AND it uses the 4D6 method where the lowest die is dropped.
Ok cool let me know if I can make a character for this and I will send you the stats I roll and link to dnd character so you can see stats and backstory and what not. If you still have room of course.

Is this on discord? I would definitely be interested if so.
It's for the play by post forums

You don't really need to worry about party synergy, I adapt the story to fit your character comp, not the other way around.

Hi just saw your post in regards to a campaign and I was wondering if you had any slots left?
The campaign is a different thread, located over here:

I'm still considering candidates for the remaining slot.
