Personality: I'm deeply interested in my origins and the people who gave me up Ideals: Live and Let Live. Ideals aren’t worth killing over or going to war for. flaws: I have trouble trusting in my allies. Backstory: I was found by a Draconian tribe in a desert mountain climate. The tribal elders were uncertain and considered me a bad omen since I was out of the ordinary. My adopted mother found me in a cave crying. She could her a child crying but could not find me until I open my white opalescent eyes which gleamed in the darkness. She would not admit it but she was unnerved seeing 2 white eyes in the darkness. She had 5 children die in birth and 1 killed in a raid. She was reaching a time when she could not have children but she had many adopted tribal children. Her mate was not only bonded to her for life but her complete compliment. He was stern but fair and spontaneous. He was a sage counselor and very will respected in the tribe. He was the chieftain’s soothsayer. He could tell when the truth wasn’t spoken but he also knew how to let people save face. He would find the time later to have a personal conversation so that they could speak the truth. The tribe survived in a desert climate like Iguanas harvesting plants and living in harmony with nature. The chieftain believed in balance not only with nature but with the other races that lived in travel distance of where the tribe was living. From an early age my father made sure that I was well trained in hunting and fighting realizing that I would most likely have to defend myself but he also imparted a sense of fairness making me realize that I was responsible for the harm I inflicted. Growing up my mother’s adopted children became my brothers and sisters and lead me to grow to love the tribe and its culture. This love also had a longing to find out about my parents and their culture. Living in the desert I was drawn to precious stones and water sources like I had a sense that it was there. One day I felt a draw to a cave. My brother who also was prepared for everything lit a torch but was too nervous to go far into the cave. I kept following the pull as the passage narrowed and I had to drop the torch to crawl forward. I crawled for awhile when my left hand touched the wall ahead. The pull forward was overwhelming so I put my right hand out and thought I felt the wall but it went away so I crawled forward about 2 feet. I came out into an opening that had sharp surfaces. I felt around and could stand up. I tore off a piece of my tunic and lit it on fire with the flint and dagger. Once the flames sprouted up, I could see crystals all around me. I loaded my pouch to almost bursting and then turned to where I had come in only to see more crystals glittering in front of me. I tapped the wall and it was solid. I search the whole area but could find a way out as the flames died. I thought I had been buried in and was freaking out. I searched the entire opening with no avail. My father’s voice echoed in my head, “Keep calm, next breath and if that fails then close your eyes and retrace everything in your mind.” I was calm. Okay I wasn’t so I took a breath. Then I tried searching again. I could feel fissures and a little air movement from the smoke of the flames but not the opening I came through. All else failing, I had nothing to lose but my life. Being in the dark I didn’t have to close my eyes so I just literally retraced my steps physically. Once I returned to the point I had come into the cave, I put my hand forward. I felt cold crystal structures for a second then nothing. I moved forward and kept crawling. After 2 feet I thought I saw some light so I hurried forward. The light became stronger and I kept moving toward it. It was the torch I left behind. I grabbed it and quickly made my way out of the cave. My brother was waiting and worried though he would never admit to it. I opened my pouch and pulled out a clear crystal that wad a vein of golden metal on it. My mother was pissed but my father while agreeing with her was beaming with pride. My mother took all the stones as punishment. Several weeks later my parents asked me if I know where the cave was and if I could get back into the cavern. It turned out that a trader had come in who dealt with jewelry and my mother had traded a stone for a new pot. Da’ryan (a human trader) was a nice, mostly honest man. He showed up a week later asking if my mother had more ‘stones’ which of course she did. The crystal was quartz but the metal was gold. She talked to the elders before she brought Da’ryan the stones. The chieftain himself sat in and took over the negotiating. As he looked through the specimens, under the chieftain’s unblinking stare, he pointed out some crystals that could be cut into very niece gems while the gold was of very good quality. I took several elders back to the cave and to the point I dropped my torch. My father continued forward and shortly came back asking if I had gone into another part of the cave since this path dead ended. I told him this was where I was and pointed out the spot discolored by torch soot. I felt like he didn’t believe me and I knew this was the place so I jumped in and started crawling forward. I eventually hit the end. I felt around and couldn’t find the path forward, while my father said it was okay that maybe the cave had collapsed. There was no debris, so if there was a collapse there would be a pile of debris in front of me. In my frustration I went to hit the wall in front of me but my hand hit nothing. Not knowing what happened but realizing that my family and tribe could really use more of those stones I crawled forward 2 feet quickly. I felt sharp surfaces under me and realized I was back in the cavern. Grabbing my dagger, I started prying crystals free. I filled my pouch again but thought I might not be able to get back here. I took off my pants and tied off the bottom of the legs with twine that was in my pouch. I loaded the pants and tightened the pants. I then tied the pouch to the pants using the ends of the belt. I thought to myself, “you got yourself in here and you can get out of here like before”, so I retraced my path feeling the stone wall. I pulled back and focused on getting out and back home, hopefully a hero. I reached forward again and fumbled into the wall with my hand. I tried several more times. I was getting scared and frustrated. I just started pulling stones out of the wall. As I did so more and more stones started following my handfuls of dirt. I didn’t know what was happening but I was moving forward so I kept up not changing anything afraid that I would get stuck. Several minutes later, a sliver of light appeared. I kept going and 4 handfuls more the opening was big enough for me to get out. My father’s eyes were wide open in disbelief. We worked our way out and back home. He told me later that he thought I was dead and that the rock was moving on its own following my hands. He asked if I knew what was happening and if I had ever done that before. I didn’t. I was scared and he sensed it. So, he dropped it and we looked through our loot. It was about the same except for some large pieces of gold. The cavern brought prosperity to the tribe. Da’ryan agreed to keep his mouth shut for a nice bit of profit. My mother was happy that the tribe was doing well and that none of the children were hungry. Da'ryan realized I was drawn to precious stones and would teach me about stones and jewelry making. My talent in the years surpassed his but he wasn't a vain man. He contacted a friend with a request to spend a year abroad. Tay was red braided haired dwarf. The braids were in his hair and beard. He was gruff and stand off-ish. He was, however, unbelievable in his skill and knew how to keep his mouth shut. I was a shock to him as to everyone else I've ever met. Da'ryan had told Tay about me so Tay checked on my pieces and observed my skill. Tay had no problems telling me that I had learned crap and it would take a life time to get me even decent but that was his sense of humor. He kept me humble. He learned to trust my sense and to help me explore for precious stones. I learned that I had the ability to move stone with my hands. As time progressed I could just feel the stone and move it by thought in small piles and then growing amounts and size. Why are you excited to play this character: Tordan is a character that has come about partially by dice roll and the rest emerging from my mind. He exists in multiple worlds trying to find out about himself. While I'm not adopted self exploration is a trait I see most of us doing throughout our life. I started by choosing the race. I rolled his adopted parents and background. I chose druid due to his nature as an earth genasi but his upbringing in a desert / mountain area amount a Draconian tribe meant that he had to have some fighting training. Tordan is not only searching for his parents but also what he is since no one in the tribe looks like him. Describe your availability on Sundays, and any scheduling issues I should be aware of: I'm working on finishing my master's degree (Spring 2022). I'm in EST. Years past and he began to learn the Druidic ways, and after teaching them everything they knew, they sent him to they're previous master, Glas. After studying with him he finally felt like he had purpose. But whilst he was away gathering herbs and ingrediants to brew a potion, his masters home was burned to a crisp, along with his master. He vowed to never let someone he cared for die ever again.
I am very excited to play a new campaign. I relitivly new to dnd but am excited to go head first into it. Im down for anything and everything, and am pretty good with improvising stuff. i Created this character a few days ago and cant wait to see him in action.

The two hit it off as she was the only one to truly love Ashal's spicy cooking and wit. Eventually got married, but as it turns out this woman wasn't any ordinary woman but a Fiend. Backstory:
Ssinssrigg was born in the village of Good Mead. His mother a Drow by the name of Vira Mi'ahem had found acceptance into the town after escaping an Orc warlord. She wasn't your typical Drow with their plotting, scheming, and hate, she had no care for those things. She would spend her days talking with animals and playing in the wilds. She filled her life with joy and adventure. In Drow society she would have been said to have a brain sickness and would have been put down or exiled. Maybe this is what happened but she never talked about her past with Ssinssrigg and only ever said his father had died. They never had much growing up Vira got by making berry and flower Melomels and the villagers all seemed to like her and would help them when things got rough. Growing up Ssinssrigg had a hard time making friends being a half-orc most kids were scared of him. He would eventually make friends with two other boys, a halfling by the name of Billy Tinderfoot and Erdan Snow. Being the outcast group of boys they would find themselves getting into trouble and fights with the other kids. Most of the fights were started by Billy and Ssinssrig would step in to defend his friend. But no matter what kind of trouble Ssinssrig got into his mother would always greet him with a smile and a warm meal when he got home. As he got older most of the villagers came around to calling him Sin for a short form of his name. Around the village he would take odd labor jobs to help make a few extra coin. It wasn't enough to improve their living conditions. On day a mercenary company by the name of "The Order of the Snow Owl' stopped in the village. Hearing stories of their exploited and chances at making gold he signed up with them. He rushed home and told his mother the good news. All she could do at hearing the news was smile and tell him "You go have your adventure, but you come home when you are done." and she handed him her scarf as good luck. Life in the mercenary company was not easy but living in Icewind Dale had hardened Ssinssrig to a hard life. The Order of the Snow Owl mostly was a small mercenary company of 25 that mostly hired out as advanced scouts. They also came to call Ssinssrig Sin for short. When ever they company did get to see combat Ssinssrig would put himself in harm's way to defend his comrades and his orc blood would take over making him fight in a wild rage. After their first altercation people in the company started to call him "The Sin of Mayhem" for his wild fighting style and reckless abandon. Three years had past while with The Order of the Snow owl and word came to Sin that his mother had gone missing. With the blessing of the mercenary companies leader he left to travel home to find his mother.
Why are you excited to play this character: Started playing this character in an online game during the pandemic and had to drop out do to work scheduling. The background is specific to forgotten realms but can switch up location names to fit your homebrew.
Describe your availability on Sundays, and any scheduling issues I should be aware of: My schedule is usually open for later afternoons/evenings on Sunday, occasionally I might have to cover a shift on sundays but that's not to often and I will know well in advance. Even is I do have to work I can have discord open at work and still contribute, just might not be able to be as active in the game as if I was at home.
Only question at this moment would be what changes to the backstory would make the character fit into your world better?
Player Name & Pronouns: Anthony (he/him) Character Name: Aedin Vymaer Race: Simic Hybrid Class/subclass: Cleric (Twilight Domain) Feat: Warcaster Background: Sailor Personality: Very much in the moment type of guy. I don't tend to think things through (very impulsive) but on occasion can be wise. Doesn't believe he is a cleric serving a god or goddess; just believes a powerful being is helping him. (Agnostic) Ideals: Being true to yourself. Live in the moment. Correct wrongs that have been committed and advocate for those that have been wronged (by any means I see fit) Chaotic Neutral flaws: Impulsive and don't think things through. Acts before thinking. Backstory:
Elven lives are long and full of wonder, at least it was that way for Aedin. He lived his life going from one adventure to the next, going wherever the winds blew him. The sea was his love and took every chance he could to be on it or in it. On one trip taking a job as a crewman for a ship, they came across a ship wreckage in the middle of the sea. While the crew began to investigate and look for survivors, they were ambushed and Aedin was knocked out and taken. He can’t remember where they took him but when he woke up, he was on the shore near a town he didn’t recognize and was changed… His skin, which was fair and white, is now a deep shade of blue and imbued with fish looking scales. Silver gills now sprout from his neck which allow him to breathe water. His elven heritage was stripped from him and only his elven ears were left that gave him any resemblance of what he was before. Rage began to well up inside him. This once carefree elf, made it his mission in life to track down the individuals that did this to him and make them pay. While taking a job as a treasure diver for some pirates, he came across ruins of unknown origin. Emanating from the ruins was a glow and a slight compulsion to enter. Acting on impulse, he entered the ruins. A glowing trident and shield lay at the center and a calming voice rang out throughout the ruins “Dear Child, I can sense the pain and anguish you are in.” Lights began to dance around him, mesmerizing and beautiful, while the voice continued “I can help you. I can help you gain the necessary powers and gifts to take down those who did this to you and make sure they do not harm anyone else. Be my vassal child and the power will be yours.” Taking a moment to respond he asked, “How do I know that I can trust you?” The lights dance around as if in thought and a moment passes before the voice responds, “In time child, you will know me. I will be here to guide you and give you the power to tear down those that oppose you. All I ask of you is to be true to yourself and to your heart.” The lights waver a bit and the voice asks “Child, what is your decision?” Trusting his senses, he responds “Nameless one, I accept this offer and will be your vassal.” In response, the lights surrounding him grew bright and then all went black.
Why are you excited to play this character: I like the idea of playing a character that is more impulsive (much like myself) and exploring the idea of a Cleric who doesn't put much stock in the Pantheon. I think it would be a fun dynamic to have a cleric who is so unaware of the fact he was a cleric and being a mouthpiece or pawn (depending on who you ask) for a god or goddess. Describe your availability on Sundays, and any scheduling issues I should be aware of: Sundays usually work just fine but there might be occasions that a certain Sunday might not work due to IRL (Being with Family for the Holidays and visiting family) Anything else you think I should know about you: I am a gay married man who's husband is in Medical School currently. I tend to put a lot of flair on my spells/abilities so being lenient on what my spells look like would be appreciated. Comments/questions you have for me: Not really as if I were to be in the campaign, most questions I would have would be answered during session zero.
Personality: Curious to a fault, a natural explorer form birth. They have a tenuous relationship with laws and rules and follow them at their leisure.
Ideals: Eat the rich, well not literally but if they have so much why be so mad when i take it. I don't like to kill unless it's necessary.
flaws: If you look down at them they will throw hands.
Backstory: Well despite what they'll have you believe Red Robin was not born into strife and hardship, but as the 2nd child to loving and adoring parents in a small city by the ocean. From an early age they showed to have a rebellious nature picking fights with the other kids in the neighborhood for looking down on them for one reason or another, but also an adventurous spirit as they would drag the very same kids on wild "adventures" in gardens and on low rooftops. But all kids have to grow up sometime, and Red as well. But the thirst for adventure the quelled in many of their friends didn't in Red, but lacking in ways to explore said urge it lead them to the darker sides of society. Here's where they met their partner in crime Bluejay. But after years of doing the dirty work of these people a job went wrong and Bluejay ended up killing someone, he had become more and more cruel and reckless as time went on and killed with a smile on his face. But Red ended up being blamed because they where seem leaving the murder scene. They ended up taking refuge on a ship leaving the city without even getting a chance to say goodbye to their family, but what ship is willing to take a murderer...
Why are you excited to play this character: Swashbuckling rapier and dagger is a childhood fantasy I've never really got to satisfy in DnD as of yet. The backstory so far is a rough draft but I feel there could be a lot of fun had.
Describe your availability on Sundays, and any scheduling issues I should be aware of: I have every other Sunday completely off and even if I'm in a different time zone the Sundays I'm off i have to stay up late anyways. I do work nights so the other Sundays I'm sadly at work.
Anything else you think I should know about you: I'm quite easy going and try to give people they're time at the table, I'm a little awkward at first but I warm up quickly.
Comments/questions you have for me: I'm curious how's the geography of the world? I think it's interesting to see how different homebrew worlds look, is there a lot of water or mostly woodlands? Sorry, just curious. ^^
Personality: I'm driven by a wanderlust to fill the void of losing my family to circumstance.
Ideals: As life presents us with change and challenges, we must adapt and overcome them.
Flaws: Due to his past, Morhar cannot accept companionship beyond a platonic level. Will be angered and insulted if someone tries, leading to serious mistrust. Even the word "friend" is a meaningless word to him by this point. Will regard most kindness of strangers with suspicion as people who want something from him.
Backstory:
“It nay been an easy loife for ol’ Morhar. Tha world’s oot to take away all yer happiness and spit in ya face ta rub it in.” The bartender never knew a dwarf that could say ’nay’ to finishing their drink, let alone their FIRST one.
……………
The child of a blasphemous sorceror with mysterious origins that had tainted the image of the proud citizens of his homeland. They abhorred the arcane arts, calling it an abomination; an attempt to challenge the gods’ divine blessings. Regardless, the natural talent he displayed impressed a sympathetic temple cleric who found wonder and love in the defamed dwarf.
Dwarven law could not prevent this union but the High Priest secretly prayed to the powers above that any child born of his student would be unable to harness any kind of magic so as to help purify their people of the unwelcome sorcerous influence.
The time came when Morhar was born and it was silently understood that this family of three would not be helped any further than the laws of society required of them. Forced to live in subpar housing, taking the bottom stirrings of employment to keep them afloat, unwelcome to any communal events (even those involving the temple, despite his mother retaining her cleric status), no friends to speak of and what family his mother had disowned her to disassociate themselves.
Unable to learn at the same rate as his classmates due to the constant bias against him, Morhar was simply pushed through school to avoid having any teachers or mentors bear his presence any longer than necessary, completely disinterested in the boy’s education. The torment of other students was never reigned in but Morhar did manage to gather a rudimentary understanding of the world around him. Despite enduring for this long, he gathered what simple things he owned, bid his parents farewell (to their complete understanding and support), and headed out to find a new home with the distant barbarians.
Morhar was essentially considered as an outcast dwarf, forced to find refuge with their tribe into the mountain ranges where his former brethren had seceded their rights to the harsh wilderness. With this, the outsiders moved in to claim the untamed land. It was a suicidal journey to anyone with a weak will but that was not Morhar. He was strong from the constant abuse by his kin.
Surprisingly, Morhar was received fairly easily, his ragged appearance and lack of social grace convincing the tribe he would fit in well. For the first time, he was able to find camaraderie in his new surroundings and was able to train in the art of fighting, barbarian-style. He was able to catch on very quickly, being able to summon the rage he could not previously project (lest shame his family’s name further) earning much respect by everyone for his efforts. Those around him grew to be very proud of Morhar.
While he never forgot his parents, being the only kind souls he had known prior to his new place in life, he never let it stop him from doing what had to be done to survive. Hunting and defending his home from raiders was his life now but he was content, being far better than anything he imagined as a child.
However, it was not to last.
“Aaaaaaaahhhh!” Morhar arose in a flash from his sleep. It was pitch-black, the only light from the communal bonfire outside. Grabbing his axe, he darted outside to find unnatural ice across everyone’s tents, wagons, supply cabins, EVERYTHING. Screams of pain and battle-fury pierced the darkness as his brothers and sisters-in-arms took ready with crossbows, spears, and even a few trebuchets they had “liberated” from numerous raiders in the past. Letting loose their arsenal, roars of pain echoed as their aggressor finally came in for a landing. It was horrifying. A white dragon. Waves of terror emanated from the beast, scattering many who had moments before not shown the slightest quiver of fear. Not fleeing but no longer battle-ready, Morhar simply dropped his axe into the snow, horrified at the monster as he watched helplessly on to it biting a seasoned warrior in half before erupting its icy breath across half of those still remaining.
Unable to move, the surprise of suddenly being knocked onto his back drove some sensibility into him. Looking up, it was Cardath, his adopted father, the one who took responsibility for Morhar upon being inducted into the tribe. “Run, Morhar. We cannot win this and it may well be the end of our tribe. You must live. Go! Go now and I will give you time!” Trying to interject, Cardath palmed Morhar’s mouth and stared at him with eyes of utmost concern. “Please.” Nodding his head, the two stood up and Cardath grabbed Morhar’s axe off the ground and charged in, his adopted son disappearing into the darkness to hopeful safety.
……………
That was the last thing Morhar remembered as he came to, finding himself in a…bed? With a warm fire burning by the hearth? A young girl walks in with a bowl of water and a cloth, joy lighting up in her face as she runs back out to shout, “Mommy, he’s up! He’s up!” As more and more questions flood his head, Morhar sits up to examine the room. The fireplace, the chair by his bedside, the window betraying a bright, sunny day with not a flake…of…snow…WHAT? Where was he? Morharr had never known a place of no snow and ice, though of course he knew they existed below the mountains. It certainly explained his unusual discomfort of warmth but how could this be?
A weathered but still fair woman made her presence known, clearing her throat to get the dwarf’s attention. “I’m sure you’re quite confused, sir dwarf. But please know you’re safe now. Our caravan barely spotted you halfway down the mountain and it was too late to turn back and return you to your home so please, enjoy our hospitality.” Please. Please…the word rung through Morhar’s head, the memory of the dragon. Of Cardath. Sweat brewed from his forehead.
“Where’s Cardath? Tha tribe! Are tha any ah’thers?” Panic completely overtaking him, the woman simply held down his flailing arms and calmly looked him in the eyes. "I don’t know who Cardath is or anything about a tribe. You were the only one we found. We simply were coming back from a trade expedition with your fellow dwarves.” Shocked to see the reaction to the mere mention of other dwarves, she stepped back as Morhar began to explain everything.
……………
It was nightfall as the two began going though more nuanced specifics of various parts of Morhar’s tale but it was clear that the woman, who he felt compelled by, sympathized with his woes. “I nah it be a lot to take in, lass, but yer kind heart deserves to be known. What’s YER story? It only be fair.”
Surprised that a gruff man, especially a dwarf, would care enough to ask her such a thing, she smiled softly and began her story of love, loss, and newfound meaning in taking care of others.
“Oh…sorry to hear ‘boot yer hoosbund. I should na have asked.” But it was alright, this woman was strong enough to carry through the death of her husband and raise their (at the time unborn) daughter alone. Becoming a nurse to support the two of them simply gave her more determination to be of service and help wherever possible. “It’s alright. I’m just happy my little girl wasn’t born yet to grow up attached just to lose him as I did. Had that happened, I’m not sure if I could have been strong enough for the both of us.”
Holding each other’s hands in respect, the two stare into each other’s eyes with a warm-filled heart of admiration for one another before the young girl walks in. “Mommy, I’m thirsty. Can I get a cup of water?” Breaking their gaze to turn her head towards her daughter, “Of course, dear.” Rising to attend to the matter, Morhar calls out, “Yer name, lass? I forget ma’self, hadn’t thought to ask.” “Leviline,” she sweetly replied. Leviline…what a lovely name. Morhar kept repeating it as he laid his head to rest and slowly drifted off to sleep.
15 years later….
“Ach! Git up, lassie! He ain’t THAT tough!” The tavern abuzz with drunken cheers and shouting, Morhar tries to rally his daughter to win the brawl at the centre of it all. A brazen half-orc started the fight when he squeezed her breasts through her blouse as he tongued the inside of her ear in a failed attempt to convince her to bed him. The currently smoking beard with a nearby table’s extinguished candle was more than enough to speak as to what Soria’s thoughts on that were and now the whole avenue had some entertainment with their breakfast.
A swift kick to the groin and the brute was definitely in much pain but was assuredly much more angry than hurt at this point and grabbed the offending leg, spinning Soria around the room before letting her fly across the bar countertop, knocking many a patron’s ales to the floor. Clearly this was a poor decision as several burly men got up to gang up on the foolish pervert, knocking him senseless before heaving him out the entrance, several new patrons walking over his battered body to come inside.
As the music resumed, the drinks re-poured, and the general idle chatter engulfing the room once more, Morhar is behind the bar helping Soria onto her feet. “Sorry, father. I thought I could take him. I didn’t expect a disgusting waste like him to be so strong.” “Ehhhhh…it’s alright, Soria,” Morharr sighed. “I canna expect ya to be boppin’ creeps ’n’ bozos like they be flies. Let’s jus' go. They might expect us to pay for those drinks since they threw the idjit out.”
As they made their way out the back door and down the alley, piercing laughter erupted as men and women approached from the shadows behind him. Knowing better, Morhar hurried Soria up to reach the street but as a sharp whistle was blown from the strange people, the alley became blocked off by a wagon which two more figures burst out from, surrounding them.
“Anyone coming out of the ritziest pub in town has serious coin. Don't ya dare say you’re the help ‘cause I don’t see no dish scrubbers and room maids all done up like you two." “You sure ya wanna be messin’ aboot with us? Maybe ya didn’t see Ol’ Daisy here just itching for a fight.” Morhar, raising his maul in a display of intimidation, cracked a smirk as the group grew hesitant for a moment. “I don’t think that will be a problem…once your li’l lady pays for your stupidity!” The apparent leader of the group pulls a vial out of his robes and hurls it towards the two. Blocking the concoction with the hilt of his weapon, the vial shatters, spraying a green liquid and hitting Soria in the arm. As she screams in pain, fumes rising from her right arm, Morhar’s eyes go white with rage and charges the one who threw the vial. Being unable to run due to the wagon barring the exit, the other assailants watched in horror as Morhar hit an instant, killing blow to their leader’s face before he pulls his weapon out and shoves the body to the ground, blood pooling around it.
Terrified for their lives, the group flees the opposite way down the alley, leaving Soria both scared and scarred with Morhar dropping out of his rage upon realizing the situation and his need to get his daughter to her mother, the only one who could really help her right now.
After arriving to their home, an enraged Leviline rushed Soria inside before halfway closing the door in front of Morhar. “I don’t want to hear it. For the past year, our sweet darling has been bruised, cut, hands and feet broken, sick to her guts from all manner of things, and everything else that made me fear she wouldn’t be coming home one day. This is it. I thought I could trust you after all these years after welcoming you into our home, marrying you, and letting you be the father that she never had but this is the last time! I’m not letting you see her again! I’ll get someone to gather your things, and you are NOT TO COME BACK INTO THIS HOUSE SO LONG AS I LIVE TO GIVE MY LITTLE DAUGHTER THE DECENT LIFE SHE DESERVES!
With a slam to his face, his world was now shattered in an instant. No chance to speak up. Not even a simple good-bye to Soria. Just...nothing. He knew Leviline would never want to hear a word of their daughter’s side of the story because her mind is made up and nothing would change that, especially with how badly he’d screwed things up this past year. They were all innocent mistakes but with each one, his wife’s patience wore away until there was nothing left but a failure to believe in him despite doing his absolute best each and every day.
Perhaps it was time to return to his rough ’n’ tough ways. Perhaps…he’s just not supposed to stay in one place. But first…a drink to settle his nerves and think how to give his daughter a proper goodbye.
Why are you excited to play this character: I had attempted to play this character on a different webite ala Play-By-Post format and I got in an accident shortly after joining so I wasn't able to actually play it out.
Describe your availability on Sundays, and any scheduling issues I should be aware of: I'm on Mountain Standard Time (and, if relevant, I live in a region that does not use Daylight Savings Time). I am typically free as early as around 2pm and as late to roughly 11pm. As such, I should not have any scheduling conflict.
Additionally, I originally started playing on 3.5e. I'm not fully used to 5e but I can see it's not a tremendous leap so at least it's not as big a learning curve as I had feared.
Anything else you think I should know about you: I'm a pretty easygoing, agreeable fellow. I don't like to stir the pot, so to speak. That said, sometimes I do like to roleplay my characters as though they have absurd ideas that make perfect sense to their background. I'm not the reckless, dangerous type who thinks it'd be sensible to try stupid and dangerous acts "just because" but, rather, use rationale to explain why they may have any particular opinion and lay it out rather than just instinctively acting on it. I don't want to inconvenience or sabotage the party's intentions but I do appreciate being heard out if I feel there's a reason to ask for validation on something I find worth speaking up about.
Comments/questions you have for me: I can't think of anything at the moment.
Personality: I try to be gentle but I take no shit. I refuse to be a victim, I will not let others be victimized. I expect danger around every corner. No I will not discuss my past with you.
Ideals: Don't be disrespectful and expect to be treated with respect.
Flaws: I have trouble controlling my temper. I trust no one, and automatically assume the worst in people.
Backstory: I never knew my real parents and I frankly don't care to discover them. My human father found me on his doorstep when I was an infant and he raised me as his own. I grew up in a quiet cottage on the outskirts of a village at the bottom of a valley. Father and I spent our time tending to our garden, and playing music together. Every day he went into the village to sell our latest harvests, though I was never allowed to accompany him. He never told me why I couldn't come, just that the village was dangerous. So instead, each day when was gone, I ran up the tallest hill in the valley and sat in an open field, feeling the wind blow through my hair and playing my favorite pieces of music as loud as I could.
One morning, Father left after breakfast, as he always did, and went into town. I cleaned up the kitchen and finished my other chores before racing up my favorite hill, instruments slung over my shoulder. The soft breeze that always seemed to accompany me grew stronger the closer I became to the clouds. Finally, I reached my usual spot; a flat boulder overlooking a field of wildflowers just outside a grove of trees. I sighed, taking in the cool air and the strong wind that rustled through my dress and pushed my hair out of my face. I rotated my activities for a little while; playing different songs on each of my three instruments, sky gazing, flower picking. After an hour or two I packed my things and turned around to face a towering pillar of black smoke coming from where my home was. My breath caught in my throat and the once calming wind now stung my face and eyes as I ran down the hill as fast as I could. I was too late.
What was once a quaint cottage and lush garden was now nothing more than a pile of ash. I dropped to my knees and let out a animal like scream. Everything I knew was gone. I sat there in the soot, sobbing for I'm not sure how long, when I decided I needed to find Father. I steadied my breathing as much as I could manage and turned to make the trip into the village for the first time in my 12 years of life. The journey was longer than I had anticipated, and my anxiety grew with each step. Father always warned me to only come into the village for emergencies. He said the villagers were cruel and would most likely do me more harm than good. I never could have guessed how correct he was.
When I entered the village, people practically jumped out of my way. As I felt hundreds of eyes burning into the back of my head, I picked up my pace and began frantically looking for Father. Not even three minutes into being there, the first of many pieces of trash was thrown at me. I looked at my feet to see small ball of crumpled paper on the ground, and my heart stopped when I heard the voice of the man who threw it. "What are you, some kind of freak?" The words he said, although they were the kindest that had been spoken to me that day, stung me to my core. All through the village I was ridiculed for the dusty blue color of my skin and hair.
I had finally reached the market place after a half hour of abuse and frantically called Father's name. When he didn't answer, I began searching the entire village. I haven't seen him since that day.
For the next three years I lived atop what was once my favorite hill, taking shelter underneath the grove of trees and surviving off of what little I was able to harvest from a garden I attempted to attend. One day I was playing my flute when a traveler wandered into my grove. He was a wealthy man who had heard the song I played. He poked fun at me and my situation, but he said that his mother used to sing to hing the song I now played, and left me with the first piece of money I had seen in three years. After that day I made the decision to journey into the village once more and play my music.
At first, no one played me any mind, but eventually they grew to tolerate me, and eventually enjoy my presence. Passerby's dropped off singular silver coins, that I bought what ever essentials I could with. When I was 16 I saved up enough money to begin renting a small room at the local inn. Everyday I went out to perform, I was left with more ridicule than money. My hatred for human kind and wariness of others turned me ice cold. I only spoke to defend others I saw who were being treated the same or worse than I was. Though I could never stop the abuse, those I attempted to help were mostly grateful.
By the time I was 19 years old, and still no sign of my Father, I made the decision to travel from village to village. For the past three years I've danced and played music for those I despise, surviving on rented rooms and cheap beer. The desire to find my Father burning as bright as it did the day he disappeared.
Why are you excited to play this character: Since this is my first character ever, I'm very excited to see how she develops and changes throughout a story. I think that Katika is a good character to start out on because she has lots of room to grow and change and let me explore myself as a role player.
Describe your availability on Sundays: I am totally free on Sundays. I may have family thing every now and then but it's unlikely since we usually get together Fridays and Saturdays.
Anything Else: I am brand new to D&D. I know the basics of how it works, but I have never played before and will more than likely get confused my first few times. However I am a quick learner and a people person so I will try my hardest to not become a D&D horror story :)
Comments/Questions: I know I'm a little late but I hope you still consider me.
I have been sitting on the design for the character in heroforge and I didn't have Volo's guild yet but now that I have it I can make and use my character.
I'm pretty free in the afternoon, evenings, and nights because I don't work on Saturdays.
I am 15, my timezone is est, and my discord is Prince Philip #9724. Also can you help me with making a Backstory because that is usually my weak spot during character creation?
Character Name: Meriel Race: Tiefling Class/subclass: Cleric Feat: Telekinetic Background: Noble Personality: If you do me an injury, I will crush you, ruin your name, and salt your fields. I take great pains to always look my best and follow the latest fashions. Ideals: Independence. I must prove that I can handle myself without the coddling of my family. flaws: I have an insatiable desire for carnal pleasures.
Backstory: As Meriel was about to be born, everyone rejoiced. The first daughter of the Selorn family was ready to come to life. Caelynn Selorn was going to be a happy, caring mother to a beautiful little girl. but little did she know what she was about to give birth to. The big night came and the sortm started, outside and inside the mansion too. The little girl was born but she wasn't what everyone expected. Instead of a fair blonde baby with blue eyes, something red with little horns started squeaking. At first everyone thought something was wrong with the baby, but soon they learned that the skin color was there to stay and the horns were there to grow. The community looked down on the misfortune of the Selorn family, but lady Caelynn disregarded all rumors about her cheating and went on living her life.
And so, the next 17 years passed, with struggles for the noble family. Meriel was a prick. Growing up, she did the most heinous things from cutting her mother's hair to killing little birds. The kids her age didn't develop as fast as she did and so, she always grew bored of her friends. Her mother took the best care of her and adorned her with everything she wanted regardless. Until a day when she had enough. She sent Meriel to join the cleric guild to wash away some of her sins. But it didn't take long for her to run back home. Again, her mom brought her to the guild and left her there to work the path of light. What she didn't know was the importance of the person she met there. The guild wasn't chosen by chance. There worked her real father after all. And when she got to meet the only other tiefling in the church, she laughed it off, but deep down she sensed the connection that she never had with her elven father.
Another year passed and things seemed to calm down as Meriel followed the male tiefling everywhere and anywhere. She learned healing from him and soon, the church people accepted her as part of their family. A nicer family than the one at home. She slowly started to change, to understand that the world doesn't revolve around her. She helped people. Out of her own will. But sometimes, only sometimes, her infernal side showed up. Sparing someone that was dying by killing them outright, making sacrifices to her goddess and drugging herself to reach a higher state of mind wasn't on her list of good deeds, but she couldn't restrain herself. It felt too good.
Once, while coming down from the high of evilness, she was so disappointed in herself and outright sad that she decided to leave the town and get her stuff together. It was enough. She had to train. She had to be by herself. For her own good and for the good of others. And so she set out into the world with nothing but her noble name and a few magic tricks up her sleeve.
Why are you excited to play this character: I always wanted to play a tiefling cleric because it's a combination of my two favorite things. I love supporting and also being a cheeky kind of character that has a catch to them. Plus, I think my character is pretty interesting and I want to develop her more and learn more about her.
Describe your availability on Sundays, and any scheduling issues I should be aware of: Sundays I'm usually free. I usually try to go by everyone's schedule. I try to be flexible and as available as possible.
Anything else you think I should know about you: I love drawing! I'd be happy to draw everyone's characters if people would want me to. In regards of experience, I don't have a lot, but I'm quick to learn and ready to study more if it's necessary. I only played in two other campaigns, but we didn't get too far.
Comments/questions you have for me: I know I am a bit late for this, but I'd love to give it a try and see how it goes. I'm ready to commit! And if you don't mind, I'd like to know if there is a possibility of me joining.

Character Name: Tordan
Race: Earth Genasi
Class/subclass: Druid/Fighter
Feat: None currently selected
Background: Adopted
after spending the vast majority of your life with your adoptive family, even though they are not of the same blood or racial stock, your family's culture treats you as if you were one of their own. When interacting with members of your parent's race or culture, your surprising knowledge and familiarity can create an instant bond with others. Personality: I'm deeply interested in my origins and the people who gave me up
Ideals: Live and Let Live.

Backstory:
Player Name & Pronouns: Anthony (he/him)
Character Name: Aedin Vymaer
Race: Simic Hybrid
Class/subclass: Cleric (Twilight Domain)
Feat: Warcaster
Background: Sailor
Personality: Very much in the moment type of guy. I don't tend to think things through (very impulsive) but on occasion can be wise. Doesn't believe he is a cleric serving a god or goddess; just believes a powerful being is helping him. (Agnostic)
Ideals: Being true to yourself. Live in the moment. Correct wrongs that have been committed and advocate for those that have been wronged (by any means I see fit) Chaotic Neutral
flaws: Impulsive and don't think things through.
Describe your availability on Sundays, and any scheduling issues I should be aware of: Sundays usually work just fine but there might be occasions that a certain Sunday might not work due to IRL (Being with Family for the Holidays and visiting family)
Anything else you think I should know about you: I am a gay married man who's husband is in Medical School currently. I tend to put a lot of flair on my spells/abilities so being lenient on what my spells look like would be appreciated.
Comments/questions you have for me: Not really as if I were to be in the campaign, most questions I would have would be answered during session zero.

Player Name & Pronouns: Ezzen He/they
Character Name: Red Robin
Race: Tiefling or Human
Class/subclass: Rogue / Swashbuckler
Feat: Dual Wielder
Background: Folk Hero or Pirate
Player Name & Pronouns: Richard (He/Him)
Character Name: Morhar
Race: Dwarf
Class/subclass: Barbarian
Feat: Mobile
Background: Outlander
Player Name and Pronouns: Gianna (She/Her)
Character Name: Katika Veli
Race: Air Genasi
Class: Bard
Feat: none selected
Background: Haunted One
Comments/Questions: I know I'm a little late but I hope you still consider me.
https://ddb.ac/characters/60034223/LDdL4l this is the link to my character.
Player Name & Pronouns: Eveline/Eeriluna, she/her
Character Name: Meriel
Race: Tiefling
Class/subclass: Cleric
Feat: Telekinetic
Background: Noble
Personality: If you do me an injury, I will crush you, ruin your name, and salt your fields.
