New player who knows a lot about D&D (read please)

 Hello! My name is Maddie, and I’m 14. I have listened to (not joking) about 250 hours of D&D podcasts, so I know quite a lot about how the game works, but I’be never played. I live on the west coast, so after school (preferably thursdays or tuesdays) would work great. Online would be best. Im not really looking for anything serious, just to hang out and have fun. I don’t mind swearing at all, and dirty jokes are fine to an extent guys, come on.  I might be joining my high school campaign but if not I’d love to be a part of one of yours! LGBTQIA+ ally of course. :) Do you put your characters on here? Is it normal to make a character before joining a campaign?
