I’m a new-ish DM looking for 2 - 3 players for a new 5e homebrew campaign. Here’s the hook:
Welcome to Amrys, city of a thousand stories. Amrys has art, music, sports, secret cabals and secluded noble villas where the rich shake hands and seal fates. Ruled by the “democratically elected” tyrant, this city is an engine for one thing: change.
You are the drivers of that engine. Drawn together by destiny or circumstance, your party will venture out into Amrys—and beyond—making friends, fighting enemies, and changing fate of the city for good (or ill.)
Who you are: I'm looking for some fun dynamic players who like to roleplay and take risks. My table (as it were) is really more about having a good time with your fellow players and enjoying the game than hack-n-slashing through dungeons. So if you apply, know that you'll be jumping into and contributing to a narrative. Also, know that I'm going to ask for your forbearance, a lot , as a new DM I'm really learning the rules so players to some degree will need to do that thing in that meme of the dog holding its own leash.
(Games Saturday afternoon/evening PST, discord for voice, roll20 for maps.)
Here’s the application if you’re interested:
A little bit about you
If you had to describe your prior DND experience as a player in 2 sentences, what would those be?
Do you already have some character ideas you'd like to try out?
Do you enjoy RP?
What would you like to do/experience in a DND campaign? E.g., Own a shop, slay a dragon, play poker with the Gods, anything you like
Please describe your dream DND campaign setting in a few sentences.
1. My names Zack I'm 21 going on 22 I'm a very laid-back and easy going kind of guy
2.I haven't had the chance to be a player in over 2 years as I've been stuck and the permanent DM of my group. My only player experience is a very short ghosts of salt marsh campaign.
3.I have several characters I'd love to get to try out all of which can be adapted to fit any setting
4.I love RP and when creating a character build me character with RP in mind first.
5. I'd like to get to complete a story for a character where they get to fulfill there goals
6. My ideal setting is Grimdark Fantasy very gritty and dark and spooky.
Hello, I am interested in joining (if there is still room).
I am somewhat of a newbie with the game, but I will do my best. I do like role playing, but I am really bad at keeping a consistent voice for my characters.
I already have made some characters that I would like to try out, But I don't care if I have to roll a new one.
In a DnD campaign I woul like to be able to develop my character, in the previous campaigns that I played, we never reached Lvl.5, so that would be amaizing.
The theme I most like for a DnD campaign, is medieval fantasy, something in between the Lord of the rings and the Chronicles of Narnia, with some sprinkles of eragon here and there, where there are a lot of different races to see, know and befriend. There is no need for the final bad guy to be known, that is my dream setting.
Hello, I am interested in joining this game if yoou'd have me.
Im a 26 male, i work Monday-Friday, im usually good to play friday night, anytime saturday, and earlish on sunday. i am looking for a new job, ill keep everyone up to date as things happen.
I honestly cant really remember my last game, its been a year or two since than. I do remember having fun Playing as a warlock.
I have a couple of ideas for characters but i do need to ask some questions before i try and make them/play them
I am sure i would like RP but i havent been comfortable enough to do so yet and i am trying to get to that point.
Yea, next question.
I have no idea. i am just here for the ride and would like to experience lots of differernt settings.
Hi! Your campaign looks super interesting and I'd like to join if you'll have me!
I'm a highschooler doing fully online classes, but since its fully online I'm sure I can find a way to squeeze some dnd into my schedule, it wont be hard :)
I've done a homebrew campaign that's currently on hold and I've played some other homebrew campaigns run by friends. I'm not super versed in certain parts of dnd but I'm certainly trying my best! (spell slots confuse me lol)
I'm currently really looking to play a lycanthrope bard of mine, but I have more than enough characters to fit any niche the party will need (i.e. tank, support, etc.)
I seriously enjoy roleplay! I just never really found a good group to actually delve in deep with which is unfortunate.
I'm very much a "go with the flow", neutral player, I'll try my best to do whatever the rest of the party needs me to do basically :)
Personally I LOVE fantasy stuff, a dream campaign would be chock full of it! I don't really mind where the story starts or ends, as long as there's some sort of magical force out there, i'll have fun :D
I hope you'll have me! My discord is @ScrEm#4466 and i await your reply! (I also draw most of my characters and they all have custom pfps that i drew myself so it's accurate to the character! They also have full refs i'd love to share should i be added to your group!) (Side note i sometimes space out a lot so you may need to scream at me for my attention, just an adhd thing, im working on it i swear :'))
Hi, name is Sean, and I have played AD&D, 3.5, and now 5e. I have mostly been the gamemaster and greatly enjoy creating scenes with gripping moral decisions and meaningful/lasting character choices. I am open to playing whatever role is needed but would in interested in playing an artificer multiclass.I am all about the role ply. I would like to work as an artisan creating beauty and joy. High fantasy adventure exploration combat and puzzles. You can find me on Discord at Thunderstruck#3002.
Hi there; My name is Mordekai, but people usually just call me Kai. I’m 19, and I’ve been a forever DM since I was 17. I love fantasy settings, and DnD has been one of my favorite hobbies since I started. I also love making art and playing the cello. I’m very passionate about ecology.
as a player though, it hasn’t been much. I played in a campaign with 6 of my other friends that fell apart because of a falling out between a few of them.
I do! It’s just a matter of which one is more campaign friendly is all.
I also really do enjoy RP; I prefer RP heavy games to those that are more dungeon crawler oriented.
Hmm.. that’s a tough one. I think I’d be happy with just about anything satisfying, but I am a sucker for watching the environment around me change due to my actions.
My ideal DnD setting would have to be a fantasy oriented homebrew campaign rife with surprises and political intrigue and adventure. Sort of like the plot of Dragon Age Origins. I love the idea of character building and heavy RP… and maybe also one that gets finished when it’s supposed to.
A little bit about you : Name is Tim, I am pretty easy going and usually free on saturdays.
If you had to describe your prior DND experience as a player in 2 sentences, what would those be: I have never had a chance to play as a player in DND, I've only been a DM.
Do you already have some character ideas you'd like to try out: I'd love to try out a wizard/fighter. Character would be rather scummy as they have lived life in poverty and had everything taken from them. But am open for any ideas.
Do you enjoy RP: I love RP.
What would you like to do/experience in a DND campaign? E.g., Own a shop, slay a dragon, play poker with the Gods, anything you like: I literally just love to go with the flow, I always enjoy being a person who has nothing that might end up having something at the end, or still end up with nothing.
Please describe your dream DND campaign setting in a few sentences: My dream DND campaign is a fantasy campaign with anything goes. I honestly love to be surprised by random turn of events.

I just wanted to give you all a heads up that I won’t be messaging applicants for a few days to give people who live in different times zones—or who have different work schedules—a chance to apply. But if you’ve applied I will send you a message once all the applications are in.
A little bit about you: I'm 27 and spend most of my time worrying about the future. I've known about D&D for a long time but didn't get into it until earlier this year.
If you had to describe your prior DND experience as a player in 2 sentences, what would those be?: A couple of low level adventures over the last few months.
Do you already have some character ideas you'd like to try out?: I always have some ideas, usually it's based on a interesting race or subclass ability (or combination of the two) and then theme the whole character/class around that so they "make sense". Usually it depends a bit of what level range the campaign is expected to be because of that.
Do you enjoy RP? Yes, but I'm a bit shy before i get going.
What would you like to do/experience in a DND campaign? E.g., Own a shop, slay a dragon, play poker with the Gods, anything you like: Embark on a adventure. Full of danger, interesting characters and fantastic vistas.
Please describe your dream DND campaign setting in a few sentences. Well, Lord of the Rings but with a bit more magic gets pretty close, one with lots of adventure and danger but also good moments. (I think danger is a important part of a good game, in the few games I've had so far it's the few with near-death experiences that's been the most interesting. Where you really try to stay alive/true to the characters convictions and feel good when you overcome the obstacles. It really makes one more invested in the character than danger-less campaigns tend to do).
(Games Saturday afternoon/evening PST, discord for voice, roll20 for maps.) A small note on this, my timezone is JST currently (About 14h ahead so Saturday afternoon/evening is Sunday morning/midday for me, so for scheduling reasons i'd like the games to be more towards Saturday evenings so I don't have to get up early in the mornings. Just wanted to make note of that early on since it might be incompatible with others).
Hi! I'm Jordan, an Israeli 20 year old female. I'm currently between jobs so my schedule is pretty flexible.
I've been playing D&D for almost a year now, and I'm currently in a different long-term campaign run by a friend of mine. I've also tried my hand at DMing, but I enjoy being a player far more.
I have a character idea I'd like to try out, but I'm very open to working alongside the DM to create a character that would suit the world and narrative.
I LOVE roleplay-- it's the main thing I look forward to when I play! I have a little acting experience and I tend to channel that into whatever character I play.
I'm not particular about settings or specific story beats-- I look forward to a good story as a whole! Spinning an interesting tale is always my main goal when I play. I'm looking for a long-term commitment and most importantly, a friendly group of people with good vibes!
Question -- is it possible to bring a friend along? We really want to play together and he's really sweet.
I'm sure you've filled the spots by now, but I'd like to put my 2 nickles in
A little bit about you - Hi! My online handle is Alex, pleasure to say hi. I'm 24 and find this game to be quite fun. I currently DM for my friends irl but want to be a player. It's a different feeling.
If you had to describe your prior DND experience as a player in 2 sentences, what would those be? Ive been playing 5e for nearly 2 years now, I get very creative with my gimmicks! I do tend to be a bit... over the top at times.
Do you already have some character ideas you'd like to try out? I have a lot, but I think Imma use a Warlock here if ya don't mind.
Do you enjoy RP? Absolutely yes!
What would you like to do/experience in a DND campaign? E.g., Own a shop, slay a dragon, play poker with the Gods, anything you like - Hmmm... I'd say that I would wish to become the proud owner of an army of Flumphs!!! Or if not that, then become strong enough to kill and replace a god!
Please describe your dream DND campaign setting in a few sentences - Well, honestly, I don't have a dream campaign, as long as me and the others around me are entertained and have fun, I'm happy.
1) My name is Drake, I'm 24, a gamer, and I enjoy the shenanigans that ensue when you get a bunch of people in the same room.
2) I've been playing D&D since my parents introduced me to AD&D 2nd edition, and I've been a DM a few times since 5th came out.
3) I have a few character ideas that I haven't gotten a chance to use yet, but I'd rather fill gaps in a party so that newer players can use their ideas.
4) I very much enjoy RP, the build comes after the character.
5) I would like to experience a the ending of a story, be that the conclusion to a backstory or the closing of an epic campaign.
6) My dream campaign setting is a full world, with a good mix of dungeon delving, politics, and character development.
