More Info: My campaign setting named Hestia is a project I've been working on and off at for about as long as I've been Dming. I worked hard to fill it with my ideas but discovered a few months back that a lot of what I created was still sitting from the view point of a teenager I was when I started. I decided it needed and update and I worked hard at it to try and bring new light to my world. I added some more adult themes and references that I hope any players would enjoy and have been working as much as I can to add more depth to my world so that it was layered and complex to give it an edge of difficulty. I don't want my players to struggle but I sure won't be making things easy for you. Best of Luck Players and I hope to see you at my table!(Virtually of course) Also Note: During session 0 I hold a meeting with all my players to discuss comforts in game and at my table to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience so dont let the Adult themes scare you anything you aren't comfortable with can be addressed before we even roll stats.
History of Hestia Leading up to game added below in spoilers.
Hestia-
Raised From the Ashes
Before the first of the humanoid races stepped upon the continent of Hestia it was a paradise overgrown and lush with flora and fauna. It’s diverse landscape covered many kinds of biomes. Rainforests full of life and blooming, muggy swamps and marshes, long running plains, cavernous mountains and plateaus it was a variable perfect place. The landscape was then visited by the many races of the world. This new continent would serve as home to many new groups of people who ventured out into its unknown landscape. Along the way they discovered the presence of deities who spoke to them and asked for their praise. Some turned to these new gods and revered them, others did not. This wouldn’t prove to be a problem though for the gods and goddesses of Hestia were tame and not prone to rivalry with the old gods.
For many years there was great peace and prosperity throughout the realm, there was little need for resources as Hestia was plentiful for all. One of the new gods noticed that several of his churches were very rapidly being converted to worship a god he didn’t know of. Thinking nothing of it at first he minded his business, however the expanse and rapidity of the changeover became increased as years went on and before he knew it he had but one church left. After that he approached the church head and asked what had happened. But before he knew it there was a cloaked figure before him in the church. When asked to reveal himself the stranger spoke but a few words. “ Who I am is irrelevant, but what I am is what really matters. “ The god spoke to him directly. “ Then I must ask, what are you?” The man approached the god with an unfathomable speed and struck the god in his chest with his palm. Upon doing so the god found himself disconnected from the aether, the magical divine power that flows through all gods and goddesses. Now nothing more than a mortal, the cloaked figure spoke once more. “ I am the means to an end, no longer will the gods and goddesses rule over us. Instead they shall be ruled by us...” With that said the god now turned human attempted to speak up but within a moment and the flash of metal he was cut down in his own church and left there on the floor. The cloaked man disappeared and was not seen for some time.
Over the years that came to pass many gods and goddesses were brought to mortality even some attempted to find the man and put a stop to him. Any who directly opposed him were cut down and any who accepted their mortality were spared. Some gods and goddesses refused to return to Hestia for fear of losing that which made them gods. After such a disturbing time most of the standing churches were removed or left to ruin. Daietic worship became rare and scarce among Hestians. Without much to turn to for problem solving Hestia became war racked. The gods made the world lush and plentiful and without their influence to keep balance some lands became unchecked and overgrew filled with dangerous beasts. Other lands became barren lacking in simple resources. This drove many to war to try and make a home for themselves in this new world. The Aether Flow still existed but very few could access it and use its gifts to help others. These few people became the assistants and workers for the living gods on Hestia who were bound to mortality. Even though some of the gods still had their power it was severely diminished and as such many were taken advantage of unable to escape via the Aether or fight too many people off some were captured some were used till they died of exhaustion but a few lucky ones were protected and still revered.
The war turned many areas of Hestia uninhabitable and after many years of war the world finally settled into a dull silence. It was in this silence that a few great voices called out and made themselves into more than what they were creating great cities and giving rise to empires spread across the land. Although in general there was peace, land and resource disputes were always common issues. It is in this dull era of peace that we find ourselves at the beginning of a venture that would change the fate of many for they say it is always the calmest before the storm. But in the storm's wake is where the truly brave and powerful step forward to face it.

Personally I have been playing D&D from the original boxed set back in my school days. I AM new to 5e however I have GMed and played AD&d, Pathfinder, 2e, 2.5e and 3e, and well as other game systems. I am not interested in anything "professional" level as critical role (ect ...) I just want to have some fun. Also I do know two friends that are intermediate skill gamers (husband), and beginner skill (wife). Have discord, roll20, & D&D beyond accounts.
