Game: D&D 5e Genre: Survival Horror; Adventure; Mystery; Psychological Group type: Online / Discord (voice only) / Theater of the Mind Experience: New or Veteran Location/Timezone: USA, Pacific Standard Time Schedule: Weekly, Saturdays @ 4 PM PST / 7 PM EST (Session-length: 4-5 hours long) Roles sought: 5-6 Players (1 slot available) Game Style: 60/40 between Roleplay and Combat. Also, I am looking for a non-evil alignedparty. The adventure module has this underlying dark, foreboding and tragic tone, so be prepared for that type of content.
Hello, hello! To start off, a few things about me: I am Rami (he/him), a fairly new DM, easy-going, friendly, open-minded, and a member of the lgbtq+ community! I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and start DMing for the first time and I have recently set up a discord server where our game will take place on Saturdays, PST. I’m looking for others who are available that day, too. I take time and care to prepare for each session, and I am happy to assist any players in molding their characters’ personalities and backstories before the adventure begins!
With winter upon us, I thought it’s high time to play a winter-themed game! I am preparing Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden (which I am very excited about and have been looking forward to diving in!) and welcomes 5-6 players—both old and new, experienced or none—to explore this isolated frozen tundra and its inescapable horrors waiting from above and beneath the ice! Join me and let’s have some fun adventures in the creepy wilds of Icewind Dale and end the Everlasting Rime!
I am leaning hard on the horror aspect of this adventure, especially the survival and body horror. So expect some descriptive violence, tragedy, and other creepy, spine-tingling shenanigans. That doesn’t mean this campaign will be all depressing (the module has plenty of hopeful, casual, and light-hearted quests!) and if you are a fan of that and the survival horror genre in general, then leave a message down below by answering the prompt:
Discord ID: D&D Experience: [ beginner / intermediate / veteran ] What are you looking for in a typical dnd game? Favorite Subgenre of Horror: [ list as many as you want! ]
If you have more questions, feel free to ask me below! Thanks, y'all!
Note: I will continue to look for players until all spots are filled. I will bump this thread if I still need players:)
Experience: I would say beginner to intermediate, I like to try and role play a lot
I am looking for a DnD game to have a good challenge either with traps or monsters and hopefully make some fun times with other players.
favorite horror: camp, I love Elvira and old style Bella lagosi, munsters, but also suspense thriller. I love when you don’t see the monster right away just deal with the effects of it (the movie silence).
D&D Experience: beginner / intermediate, I have been playing D&D 5e for almost a year now. I plan to start Dming soon. I also want to DM for Rime of the Frostmaiden. When I DM there are 2 ideas I would like to try.
Have the NPCs rhyme a lot whenever they speak to the players.
A rap battle villain vs players
1st and 2nd favorite Class to play: Wizard and paladin
What are you looking for in a typical dnd game?: I am looking to have fun! Comedy, cracking jokes and collaboration between players/DM are important factors for a fun time.
Favorite Subgenre of Horror: [ list as many as you want! ] I don't have much knowledge about the subgenres of horror. I like a good challenge. It's easy to feel horror when I feel like a TPK could happen or something less extreme like your character is blinded.
lol about the rap battle. And my campaign will certainly have some parts of levity and comedy to balance out the module's depressing narrative (idk if you have read/played Rime before). I'll DM you.
I like to play most classes, but clerics always have a place in my heart. The fact that you could be heaven sent relief or god’s wrath always leaves so much room for growth.
What are you looking for in a typical dnd game? I like it when the group works together to overcome the problems. When it’s just one person dragging everyone along their own way it’s not great. I love fun combat and cool maneuvers. I look for people who can have fun but not get sidetracked for over an hour over something that has no meaning. Rp, growing your relationships, and surviving together is what I want. Favorite Subgenre of Horror: Honestly, horror is my least favorite kind of movie, but my favorite kind of story. I like the gore and the suspense in a story because it builds up the drama. Movies just try to jump-scare me. Creepy monsters that shouldn’t exist, horrors from the past, a cursed object brimming with an tragic tale. Love them all, long as I don’t have to see it.
Discord ID: Fuzz Aldrin#4339 D&D Experience: not much as a player, a few session in a homebrew with a group that fizzled out and a one-shot here and there. I've dm'd for my current group for about half a year. so somewhere between beginner and intermediate. What are you looking for in a typical dnd game? I prefer a healthy mix of combat, problem solving, and some roleplay. I'd like to be part of a group that can help me see more ways to engage with the players that i dm for currently and find ways to give them more memorable moments. I'd also need to be with people who pay attention and do their best to understand what their character can do, the group/dm shouldn't have to constantly reexplain basic skills a few sessions in. In regards to character, i don't have anything in mind since i want to see what would work well with the group, but i do not focus on optimizing. i enjoy leaning into roleplay driven choices for what they choose to wield/cast/wear. Favorite Subgenre of Horror: When i ran Monster of the Week (similar to the apocalypse system) i really enjoyed a mix between folk/paranormal/gore. I had ghosts, cursed people that had become a twisted visage of their morals, characters from old tales around the world that remind you how easily we want to explain what we don't understand. Something like a mature X-Files.
Looking for: a group that is chill, is ok with bringing chaos but also is willing to just have some fun, I'm not looking to be completely competitive just have some fun
Horror: bring it all on, there are levels at fear and I love em all
Really into this idea would love to be a part of you still have spots available
Discord ID: Gravytrain#5077 D&D Experience: I would consider myself an intermediate player. I have played a long time but still find things I don't know or I have to look up. What are you looking for in a typical dnd game? Fun and excitement. I love roleplay but I suck at voices lol. I enjoy combat and finding new ways my character might handle a situation, in or out of combat. Favorite Subgenre of Horror: Gothic, zombie, science fiction, really anything
I am really interested in finding a Saturday game. Let me know if you are still looking for players!
Discord ID: Void Abyss#3850 D&D Experience: Intermediate What are you looking for in a typical dnd game: I look to have fun and enjoy the roleplay. I like to hear the creative story of the campaign and the backstory of the player characters. I enjoy what the Dm decides to do with player characters in creative story ways that the player would never think would ever happen. Favorite Subgenre of Horror: I enjoy all sort of horror genre and i also add some horror aspects to my characters backstories.
Discord ID: Hildemar#1748 D&D Experience: Intermediate (tabletop), but fairly new to virtual. Sadly, I have plenty of books but no references on DDB, a huge impediment to character creation here. (I can easily email char sheets, though.) What are you looking for in a typical dnd game? Roleplayed mystery, character development, suspense, team play! I prefer in-depth backstories for my characters so that I can readily play them. I like getting into the head of my PC, and applying their abilities in creative ways. Favorite Subgenre of Horror: Afraid I'm not that familiar with the subgenres, really. Horror per se doesn't necessarily grab me, but the mystery that's usually wrapped around it does.
A little about me: LGBTQ myself; middle aged, active in SCA. Characters I can easily tool up for a game include a wood elf wizard and a gnome rogue, both of good alignment.
Hi, I have some experience on old versions of D&D and I've played a short adventure on 5e. But this would be my first time playing in english (I'm brazillian), and I may do some terrible grammar mistakes, but I can listen pretty well. I may play with some salvage character, so any trouble on speaking can be consider a great interpretation of the character =)
