Game style: Escape Barovia! A mini Curse of Strahd campaign!
==============================
DM Teague’s weekly Escape Barovia game is an exciting, tense, fast-paced adventure. It is a vivid exploration of classic gothic horror tropes and monsters, from werewolves to vampires, ghosts, and more. It provides players with the freedom to make their own choices and build the kind of adventure they enjoy. It is an unabashedly character-driven campaign, giving your player character an incredible chance to shine and make their mark on the story your group tells.
Module Introduction
Under raging storm clouds, a lone figure stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. The vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stares down a sheer cliff at the village below. A cold, bitter wind spins dead leaves about him, billowing his cape in the darkness. Lightning rips through the darkness, its thunder echoing through the castle’s towers. Now Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind—or perhaps a lone wolf—fills the midnight air. The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited...

A Player Primer
Escape Barovia and Curse of Strahd are exciting, tense, fast-paced adventures. Escape from Barovia takes the best elements of Curse of Strahd and provides players with fast-paced, highly engaging weekly sessions. It is an unabashedly character-driven campaign, giving your player character an incredible chance to shine and make their mark on the story your group tells.
Like Curse of Strahd, Escape Barovia can also be a brutal, stressful, and alienating experience. Your character will be in a dark gothic land quite different from the world they know. The adventure contains several encounters and areas that will likely be far beyond your capabilities when you first encounter them and it does not provide routine or readily-available loot or magical items.
You should play Escape Barovia if you:
Love gothic horror tropes and themes.
Want to engage with a character-driven story that pushes you to develop relationships with multiple vivid NPCs and factions.
Prefer roleplay, investigation, and relationship-building to combat or dungeon-delving.
Enjoy setting your own goals and pursuing means of achieving them.
Enjoy facing an active, powerful, and personally antagonizing villain.
Want to participate in a tense, adrenaline-fueled experience that will create memories to last a lifetime.
Want to play weekly in 3 hour sessions.
Want to play in a mini-campaign. What is a mini-campaign? This is a campaign that allows for the players and DM to be constantly engaged. It focuses on the stories of your characters and how they relate to the module's story arch. We will aim to finish this campaign in the range of 3 to 4 months. *(Data from D&D Beyond suggests that most campaigns end after less than seven 3-4 hour sessions. To allow for the best DM and player experience I distill the campaign down into a juicy jam-packed adventure! This also allows for great replayability of the campaign and I will be hosting more Escape from Barovia mini-campaigns in the coming years that you can join.)
Session 0:
In this free session we will hold a starting session during the game’s first scheduled timeslot. During this time we will cover ground rules, align expectations, character build, and generally get to get to know each other.
Why Pay to Play?
D&D requires knowledge of the rules. I have access to all of these through D&D Beyond and assets on Roll 20.
Low turnover of players. Payment ensures commitment and respect for your time
D&D requires a place to play and for us it is on Roll20 and Discord. I will help players navigate the interfaces.
I will have an organized and complete campaign that is responsive to the players interests and character’s goals.
I invest hours into the game preparation and complete world and story building in alignment with the players and character interests.
I also bring detailed maps, tokens, music, and background images to the game to enhance your immersion.
Non-player Characters (NPC’s) are flushed out and will be voiced according to their personalities.
Session 0 is free.
If you are not satisfied with your experience your money will be refunded.

If you have any questions you can message me here or through Roll20, Reddit or Discord at DMTeague#5116.
I'm really interested! Been hoping to play CoS for a while now!
1. Yes, I haven't had any complaints about my mic quality. 2. Yes, free. Don't see the point in the paid version. 3. Yes. 4. Paypal 5. Maria, she/her 6. I've been playing D&D for a few years now, text roleplaying for a lot longer. I love dark and gritty settings and I have a soft spot for Hugh Jackman's 2004 Van Helsing movie. I'm mostly excited to playing an actual module with an experienced DM; I love homebrew settings but Ravenloft really appeals to me more than any other. 7. Combat is the weakest part of D&D. In order of preference: Roleplay < Exploration < Traps & puzzles < Combat 8. I have a vague character idea that I had a while ago, but subject to change; Astral Self Monk. I also wouldn't mind playing a Beast Barbarian if there was some kind of incorporation with other werewolves that I assume are in CoS.

7. I do like combat. But Roleplay is my prefered style. I do enjoy puzzle solving and a mix of roleplay in combat.
8. I wanted to play either a Chaotic neutral Reborn or Dhampir character that shares personality traits similar to a ghoul or ghast. Such as having a hunger for carrion flesh. And is sometimes found skulking around gravesyards and old crypts.
Hello, Another group has written to me since i posted on you're thread. And i accepted their invitation to join them. But i thank you for contacting me. Have a good day.
